4 years in, finally see a crack in hardtop!

After 3-4 attempts at trying to repair a vehicle with the same problem and if the vehicle is still under warranty, there can be a lemon law case. Since the cracks and delaminating can cause leaking/mold and or structural integrity issues I would think that is would fall under the lemon law. I spoke to a Lemon Law attorney and since Ford replaced the top once,, they would need to replace the top 2 more times (under warranty) to have a lemon law case.

Just wondering if anyone went that route since I’ve heard of people on their 3rd and 4th top.

The roof is considered body trim. It isn't essential to the operation of the vehicle. Good luck with your lemon law case. Your lawyer needs to read the warranty.

I am curious from an observer and troubleshooter perspective of where, when, and how many are affected by this. I wonder If it was a time frame batch or dealer lot location issue? Is this a temperature response to where the vehicles set in the weather before it was fully cured? Is it hot or cold, or both? It's peculiar due to the distribution variables and the fact I have only ONE panel degraded where many have ALL or NONE. Just thinking out loud here.......I know most of you have been as well.

Regardless, we all need to have a plan to respond in our own way to this obvious random issue. I do appreciate @Jakob1972 approach and would be pleased to see him have a side hustle, that I would gladly invest in, If he chose to do so. There is unfortunately a need for it. Just don't think that will be geographically convenient. Guess I will ad this to my STD....... Shit to do, list. I have to do interior bed lining on my 86 Bronco restoration project as well.

This looks surprisingly good in your photos and something I’m going to keep in mind. When you’re in person, does it look “OEM-quality” good to you?

I really hate the janky aftermarket jobs that look like someone hosed down their vehicle with bed liner, but your photos look quite slick and impressive, at least in photos.

I think I looks really good. The texture is a little thicker than I wanted. I was having issues with my regulator so I was not able to shoot it at a higher psi which will give you a finer texture.

I'm on top #3. The dealership told me that since I'm now out of my warrantee, any new top paid for by ford would need to be within a year install. Last one lasted 14 months.
I would be willing to pay the difference to a painted hard top. Dealership told me thats not an option.

Was told the same thing, but Ford will not honor this. I was three tops down by 36,000 miles. The last one replaced two months before I hit 36k, three months into that top, cracks again. Ford said no warranty as it is out of the 3/36, but tried to work with me oin a price to replace their defective part.

Dealership was wrong on the 12 month- that is only covered by Ford Performance or purchased parts.
