The original filson store was in Seattle and primarily sold quality clothes, blankets supplies for the alaska/klondike gold rush in 1897 and had a monopoly by having the best products money could buy, which was very important back
then...literally life or death in some cases...poor quality gear was something to avoid if you wanted to live through the tough conditions and weather of the Klondike.

I've been wondering what ever happened to the 2 filson Bronco firetruck 2dr trucks???

I was disappointed to see the original factory l store shut down a few years back, it was fun to watch the quality clothing being made in the factory in the back!

I always loved their slogan ,
"MIGHT AS WELL HAVE THE BEST"
and admit to using it myself from time to time as justification for any top tier products 🤣🤪🤑

I am pleased to see the release of the filson edition!

Spiritual successor to the Eddie Bauer edition… except
Collabing with the 400$ jacket company might be a way for ford to slap that “heritage luxury upclassed” feel onto the Bronco for it to be just another appearance package with a 5000$ price tag
Totally agree, it feels like every "special edition" lately is just a massive price markup for some different stitching, badges, and a unique paint color. $5k for an appearance package is getting ridiculous.

Fil.who Never heard of them either and I lived in Ca and Co for 25 years.
This partnership has a lot more to offer Filson than Ford.

Seems I’ve read 1000 times people asking for a Eddie Bauer edition, so not understanding all the hate on this.

Ditch all the plastic paneling and seats and ford could appeal to that posh crowd, the outer banks just had too much plastic to do that.

inflation is the elephant in the room and that’s the reason the Bronco is so expensive, it’s not just because ford hates your wallet.

Bronco needs an interior upgrade in a big way for the non off-road buyers, hope this works out like Eddie Bauer of old or king ranch in the F series.

The Ford/Filson Fire Truck concept was moar door only. It had the canvas bulkhead and the rear seats converted to cargo and a water tank. I don't think Ford ever publicly mentioned who received the truck.

You may be thinking of the 2-dr BDS Suspension SEMA Fire Rescue Truck build - which is totally bad-ass. It still is running trails.

Your right, I forgot the Filson was a moar-door. Still looked awesome when it was shown to the public. The BDS one pictured above has always been one of my favorite builds...but Im a fan of half cabs. 🤪
I hope the new Filson Edition has thick leather everywhere and the shelter cloth instead of carpet.

I’m sure Filson will embrace the opportunity to bring some interesting interior materials and detailing. Ford is a big brand, but the Bronco is a niche product. Filson probably has a mailing list of several hundred thousand customers. That’s not a big number, but they’re right in the Bronco target audience: outdoor enthusiasts (real or aspirational) with disposable income. I’m sure we’ll see some pricey Bronco-branded merch as well, which some members here will scarf up!

Filson has gone in a bad direction. It was a great company. I’m actually excited to see this. If it is cool (manual transmission) I will definitely try to get one.

Great marketing by Ford & Filson. Like Jeep did years ago with Levi's, the rugged, outdoorsy do anything image is a great complement for Bronco. It will generate appeal to Bronco from a demo that probably wouldn't look at a Bronco on their way to a Land Rover, Lexus or Mercedes dealer. And if Scout ever does launch this will put more distance between Bronco and that product whatever it may end up being. Certainly it will be expensive, just like AMG and M vehicles are, hopefully Ford & Filson sweat some details and there's substance behind the gingerbread.

They really are going for a niche without a lot of brand recognition. I live in Texas and lived in the mid-west and never heard of them. A high-end lumberjack fashion statement that does not have the curb appeal of a Hennessy or mods like a Saleen will be hard to charge over what they already do. Do people want to drive around with a fake fire ranger livery on a high-end Bronco with diamond stitching named after an outdoors store with Alaska vibes?

We had Vermont's Orvis in Texas for a minute, but people could not relate to the fly-fishing culture of the north when we already have so many homegrown outdoor retailers.

Judging from this site it is heavy on plaid like the old Scout seats. It might sell well in PNW where people know the brand. They should have done Bass Pro Shops or a brand with national recognition.
