They are constructed differently than the cardboard MIC tops. More akin to the way the Wrangler tops are manufactured.

I don't think we're going to see any kinds of issues with the painted ones that we see with the crappy MIC tops.

Is there a functional reason to trade in, given your heritage is probably only a few years old? I wouldn't take the financial hit unless the Big Bend offers some different functionality you need, especially with the top situation if that's a concern (my MIC top is cracking).
Moving to a 4 door from 2...
And, when I took delivery of the HE, interest rates were 8%
I'm not taking that to term lol. And...I really don't love the Heritage

Just had mine finally replaced. Let's see how well it holds up. Not holding my breath.

On the plus side, new MIC top looked good and the dealership did a great job installing head liner, windows, etc. Too bad it had such a piece of junk to work with.

(C'mon, Ford. This MIC top has been an unmitigated goat screw.)

I have a 2025 Bronco BL coming in late Dec or Early Jan 2026. My question, are the cracks causing leaks?

Not initially and if you unload vehicles after a few years probably doesn't matter, other than if some buyer doesn't want the cracks.

For those of us who hang onto vehicles a long time, it's not the thing you want to see and could be an issue down the road if cracks or delamination continues. Time will tell.
Once the MIC tops have been around a few years and warranties are not covering them any longer the delamination will open up the core to water. Leaks will be inevitable because these tops are fabricated from corrugated cardboard and you know what happens to cardboard once it gets wet.

Good thing the painted tops have a different outer skin that doesn’t have widespread cracking issues.

Is it possible to replace the MIC tops with the painted tops? My BL is being built in a few weeks and its too late to change the order.

Sure. But it’s extremely expensive if not ordered with one.

Im thinking long term after warranty period. Unless Ford finally comes out with a top due to recall or class action lawsuit.

Yeah you could still purchase one whenever. Like I said, they’re just extremely expensive.

I probably wouldn’t hold my breath for recall since those are typically safety related. Class action likely isn’t going to actually help anyone with a cracked top either.
Best case they release a customer satisfaction program, but I don’t see that happening.
