Happy with the work done to replace camera? All hardware back in place,no body damage + camera works? If so let's give some credit to Dealers who have good techs. My work coming up in a few weeks.

Is everything accessed from the spare tire side or did they have to go from the inside of the tailgate ? I have mine scheduled for camera and shock recalls on Monday but wondering if I should remove my tailgate table myself if it needs to be off .

Primarily from the exterior side. I asked @Ducati1098 the same question for the same reason, to avoid removing my tailgate table.

Edited to correct: there's some connections under the interior panel but nothing requiring table removal.

Yeah they’ll need to go from the interior also, but just to go through the little vent area to unplug a connector. So a tailgate table shouldn’t matter for that.

Do they have to update any software to do this? My recall letter makes it sound like it is a software update.

All I am doing in advance is replacing spare tire wheel lock with regular lug nut so lock does not dissapear as sure being recall work Techs need to hustle. Will replace wheel lock after work is done.

You got a new camera? My recall notice just said the parts weren’t available so use your mirrors!
I called Dealer after receiving my paper notice + asked if they just inspected camera + he said they are replacing all of them + will do rear shock inspection at same time.Might require another trip after they get shock repair/replace parts.

Mine's in an aftermarket bumper (Expedition One) and they said they can do the recall, but since Ford only gives them a certain amount of labor hours for this, anything over they would charge me shop rates.

The EXP-One is a complicated piece of kit - you'd have to remove like 6-8 bolts to get to the camera itself - and I don't feel like paying them 100's more.

Has anyone tried calling Ford to see if they'll just send you the parts? I can do it myself, just don't want to spend the out of pocket on the recall.

For whatever they would want to charge me, thinking just getting a Wolfbox Tri-pro would be roughly the same price.

maybe remove the bumper before going there? Then there’s not much for them to do, except test it.
