Unrepairable recalls piling up.

Same boat here with 4 outstanding recalls - this will be my third back up camera as they keep replacing with bad ones - terrified to drive too far in the back country with the fuel pump issue as I dont want to be stranded in some super remote location and have that go out - not feeling very confident in this thing after 3 years of ownership now. Aside from the recalls, the rust is starting to also make me very nervous under this thing - I do love it when all the lights are not on the dash though

My previous 2012 BMW X5 was a 1000% more reliable than a 2010 F150 we owned. Both had over 110K miles when we got rid of them. Most serious issue with the BMW was the A/C compressor taking a crap at 100K miles. Prior to that, a premature water pump failure, which was a known issue with the electronic pump. BMW issued a recall on those. After that a leaky valve cover gasket, also a known issue.

The F150 on the other hand was a nightmare and if it weren't for an extended warranty, it would've bankrupted me. I have a fat file folder with the work orders from all the repairs, and most were big ticket items.

I've never owned a Honda or Toyota, but our VWs were very well built. Near perfect panel alignment too. The earlier Tiguans were German built too as I recall, which may be part of it.

I have owned two Land Cruisers and they epitomized Toyota's legendary quality reputation. All they asked for was regular oil changes, brakes and tires.

Owned several Acuras. A few issues with those, but most of them were relatively minor. Not quite as headache free as the Land Cruisers.

Yeah, I have reservations about keeping my '19 F150, even though my intent was to keep it indefinitely. Thing is, not many are making an RCSB 4x4 anymore.

Out of the three repairs covered under warranty, the replacement of all the cam phaser solenoids (at 20K miles) would have been costly. I got to pay for replacing the leaking rear pinion seal at about 30K though. At 32K miles, I keep wondering what's next. Most unreliable vehicle I've bought new.

Like most, I buy new rigs with the expectation they will be trouble-free for many years. My last F150, a 2004, was flawless for the near decade I had it. What happened, Ford?

You are right, but mine was delivered in February and brought an alarming amount of road salt and rust with it from Michigan lol. And it does see the beach several times a year.

Not only that but in the winter as well if you live in an area where they use road salt.

A dealership can’t if there’s a delivery hold. Technically they can sell it, they just can’t deliver it to the customer.
Nothing prevents public sale or trade in of a vehicle with an open recall

So, catch me up. With the shock recall and no parts are all leftover '24 Sasquatches unsellable still? I assume the '25s are OK and all pre 24's are gone. And all post '23 don't have the fuel pump issue, correct?

My great great (maybe one great i cant remember) uncle worked for Bantam. Karl Probst. He was indirectly involved in inventing the Jeep. My coworker just had to have the engine replace on her 2022 2.0l turbo wrangler. 26k miles. I did the front brakes and rotors for her when the dealership wanted 900 to change them. I told her hey this engine sounds like its gonna rattle apart and i smell coolant. aaaand the engine was toast.

Well i brought my 21 OB Advanced in for the recall and while they were torture testing it for the second time (they had a computer glitch and had to restart the test) it developed a misfire on cylinder 1 and they told me i will be getting a new engine. Mind you i bought this used two weeks before i brought it in for the recall. I'm glad the engine is getting changed. I'm excited to get it back, i love this truck. Also, that torture test is wild. They park the truck outside and use the computer to bring it to 4,000 rpm for 55 minutes. If the engine blows up ,,, you need a new motor. if it doesn't, you get a warranty. Lol pretty wild. One cool thing was my ford pass app actually alerted me during the test of an engine code. My last truck was an 08 suburban so that was cool to me.

Cant wait to get my truck back and enjoy it!

Only 4000 RPM? I don't have a V-6 but I assumed they ran it up to redline for a while. Something I really would not like to have done to mine. Good luck with your new engine.

Willys Jeeps had a slat grill made of welded 1" bar. Ford had the stamped grille which was adopted for all jeeps. It had 9 slots, wo Willys patented a 7 slot version after the war, I suppose Ford could put a 9 slot version on the next gen Bronco, but please no. Bantam I think was slat also.

They balked at replacing mine near the end of the recall period (I ran them as long as I could, I liked them) I got a bit rude with the regional rep and got reimbursed for my replacements.

I tried to take advantage of the Employee pricing and other promos (almost 10K savings) on a 2024 2DR BL which was advertised in my local dealer’s website. When I called them, they said they couldn’t sell it bc of the recalls.

First off, awesome picture, and a big thank you to your Dad and those like him for fighting for freedom. We owe them a debt we cannot repay.

I was in a re-enactment in pa in april and got to ride in one of the guys restored jeeps was bumpy, loud and dusty. and did i mention perfectly awesome. (see pics below)

The service manager said 4k rpm for 55 minutes. Im hearing from others its 5k rpm. I can only imagine how hot those turbos get.

When they did mine it was before the fuel pump recall got posted. They had to run the test twice on my truck at which time it developed a misfire in the #1 cylinder. Its interesting that one of the symptoms im hearing of with the faulty fuel pump is check engine codes for misfires among other things. wondering/hoping i could get the fuel pump done on mine since its gonna be apart. We shall see on that one.

It's insane they can't get the software fix (backup cam) things out faster. And having open recalls for 12+ months? Ridiculous.

IDK what the recall history is on Jeeps, but their overall quality totally sucks. Not sure you'd improve your standing. LOL.
