If it's 100% full you'll probably spill some, but 3/4 should be fine.So your saying the pump assembly can be removed and exchanged with fuel in the tank without a spill?

When the assembly is removed doesnt that make a hole in the bottom of the tank untill the new one is inserted? If it's 100% full you'll probably spill some, but 3/4 should be fine.
Nope the only holes in the tank are on the top. When the assembly is removed doesnt that make a hole in the bottom of the tank untill the new one is inserted?
So no unfiltered fuel will get into the fuel lines?Nope the only holes in the tank are on the top.
I've never replaced any in the fuel tank only under the hoodIf you have never replaced a fuel pump of any kind , you will want to let the dealership take care of this for you.
Nope, the lines won't even be connected to the tank during the job.So no unfiltered fuel will get into the fuel lines?
so when the pump is removed what keeps the fuel from leaking out?Nope, the lines won't even be connected to the tank during the job.
Gravity?so when the pump is removed what keeps the fuel from leaking out?
You said the pump was removed from the top right? So if the top and bottom are open what keeps the fuel inside?Gravity?

The bottom is never opened, there's no penetration or anything on the bottom of the tank. You said the pump was removed from the top right? So if the top and bottom are open what keeps the fuel inside?
No holes in the bottom of the tank unless a tweaker stole your gas. These pictures should help. You said the pump was removed from the top right? So if the top and bottom are open what keeps the fuel inside?
Ahh...thanks, boy was I out to lunch. The bottom is never opened, there's no penetration or anything on the bottom of the tank.
The top has penetrations for the filler line, and a relatively large opening for the fuel pump/level detection assembly to drop down into (that has a gasketed cover that bolts on)

Two finger removal I like that....No filter or at least a screen? Looks expensive.
