Yeah... I expected a least an oil mist or sheen or something.

Obviously I have to keep the FP catch can on the Bronco since I had to destroy the original factory hose during the install. I'll check it again after winter to see if colder weather changes anything. If it does in any meaningful way then I'll post an update.

But for now... money best spent elsewhere.
So winter is just about over - Any update?

I did an oil change on mine about 1500 miles ago and one filter was totally dry, but the other one had probably a teaspoon of oil in it. Didn't install it until like 20k miles so guess we'll just have to see what the effects are longer term.

Did an oil change 500 miles ago. The FP 2.3 Separator was installed about 2k miles before change and it had maybe a half a teaspoon of oily/watery sludge in it. Wiped it out. Re-installed. I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30 full syn oil w/ Wix 51348XP filter. And run either 93 or 91 fuel. See what I find at the next 5k oil change.

I got nothing of value to contribute unfortunately.

Very little snow this winter, super crappy ski season, and then nonsense happened with my now former employer (company got bought out, projects canceled, few round of layoffs, the typical stuff).

So I've put a grand total of 1800 miles on my Bronco since fall. Just haven't driven it enough.

Mine seems to be working. More liquid found on drivers side. Between 1/4" to 3/8" of liquid in 5K miles.
YMMV 🤠

Hello. Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your layoff. Seems no company these days is safe from it, sadly. I'm new here and soon to be a 2024 Bronco owner. I was curious, have you checked your FP catch can since you made the video about it? I know it was completely empty in that video, so I was wondering if it has started to accumulate anything since then. I ordered the UPR can for my 2024 Big Bend Sasquatch that just got scheduled to be built. I was considering getting the FP can as well if it actually did anything to help.

Also, thank you for the videos. They've been informative and helpful in my Bronco research.

I have checked it, just a few weeks ago while I was filming this video. It was the first time I checked it since my last catch can video about a year ago.

This time there was definitely a fine mist of oil in the Ford Performance catch can. Not enough to have a measurable amount of liquid to pour in out, but enough to detect with white paper towel.

Ahh, ok. I haven't had the chance the watch that video yet. Thanks for responding. Good to know that at least there was something in it.

Very end of that video has the catch can stuff. (Wasn't the main focus of the video at all.)

I don't actually remember if I had posted the video of me opening up the Ford Performance catch can, but if I didn't I'll see if I can find that clip and post it.

It was time for the next 5k oil change. Opening up the FP air/oil separator is like opening up a Christmas present. What did I get? A mixture of different colored sludges. Some runny some more like gelatin. Wiped it out. I had used some Permatex Form-a-Gasket to seal up part of the mating surfaces. Just in case of a possible leak. Top a little warped from the factory. Good to go for Colorado next month.

Do you know if it's possible to get a new oring? Thinking of getting the FP kit, as your photo shows promise that it's capturing something that I'd rather not have spread into my intake tract.
