Looking for budget compressor and inflator&deflator combo

ARB is probably going to be the end goal down the line, maybe couple years from now but yea.
Would u recommend a particular one? I’m thinking about one from a major tool brand like Dewalt or Milwaukee

I purchased a SmittyBilt, and used it with success for 3 years. A friend now has my old one and likes it too. Plenty fast. Crappy fabric case. Gets hot, like I think all of them do.

if you’re looking for a more universal type compressor like Dewalt or Milwaukee that can use on one tire or at home with bike tires etc., Project Farm did a good review of these. Milwaukee is very quick but you’ll need to buy batter and charger to go with it.

I just got my Bronco back in February, but I had a Jeep with an OBA system for about 7 years. I started with this ( https://a.co/d/0C52pSO ) but I separated the pump from the reservoir. I kept the pump in the cargo area and custom mounted the tank on the roll bar. If I had it to do again I would definitely mount it under the hood though as it is loud when running. I would say this pump is the bare minimum to pump up a set of 37s.

I upgraded the pump to the Smittybilt 5cfm model and it was perfect for 37s. My issue with the Smittybilt is the non-standard metric threads and the j-spec quick connects. Also the "cooling fins" are plastic. Anyway if you have the know-how, the Smittybilt is a more capable compressor than the Wolo I linked above, but it has its shortcomings. Now that I'm not running 37s, I am working on a mount for the Wolo pump and looking to hide a one gallon tank on the inside of the frame rail. Probably this one: https://a.co/d/cWcR6TH

This was my Jeeps setup and having the air tank on the roll bar was pretty cool. Got asked all the time if it was nitrous lol... but using an old blue NOS bottle might be fun. Part of me is tempted to do a similar tank mount and just relocate the pump under the hood

BTW, the friend who now has my old SmittyBilt started with a portable battery powered compressor. I can't remember the brand, but he did all sorts of research and purchased what he said was most highly recommended for off-roading. It was very slow and ran out of battery before filling his fourth tire.

I also found that the SmittyBilt worked much faster with the engine running, as voltage is higher at the battery connections when charging. Good luck.

I think the choice if you do battery powered is somewhat up to your needs. My personal opinion of battery pack tools I generally think Milwaukee is best, but I already had some dewalt stuff so I’ve stuck with the brand for the interchangeability of batteries to all my different tools.

Sure, like others have said, battery powered isn’t going to stand up to a dedicated system. But it doesn’t sound like you’re running beadlocks and airing down to single digit psi. I would think a battery powered would do the trick, and you have the convenience of using it around the house, or taking it in other vehicles on trips. Just some food for thought. The dewalt I can set the pressure I want and let it inflate and auto stop. Has the ability to run off battery or a power cord. Attachments for vehicle, multiple bike, as well as high volume hose for filling things like rafts/air mattresses, which is great for me for camping/fishing.

Yea I’m definite not an off roading maniac, I am debating between the Milwaukee and the dewalt one, but seem capable and the dewalt does have tha vantage of auto stop. Do u just keep it in the trunk or do u have like a dedicated mount on a molle plate somewhere?

I run the single ARB compressor with the ARB pressure control system in my tailgate with the AAL mount. Works very well.

For the hoses, I would say there are a few out there, but if you want a single hose system, you can find the ARB single hose setup, which will have several inflator pieces in it for a discount on Amazon most time. For my 4-hose setup, I went with EZflate when they had a sale. Those have the quick-connect chucks and work very well.

Now, for a portable compressor, I use the Milwaukee M18. Before I installed my current system, I would take that out with me and an extra battery. Had zero issues.

Interested in the Marz mount also. I wasn't sure my Moreflate Tensix pro would fit, but after looking at yours I suppose it will . Any issues getting that twin compressor in the mount as in moving factory hoses or wiring out of the way etc ?

IMHO….
- For deflate get some HIGH quality accurate deflators. Stauns are great. $90
- Get a portable compressor with decent flow rate. Everyone will have an opinion on the best options. Spend maybe $150.
- Don’t waste your time on 4 way hose kits. Just watch the dash TPMS and move from tire to tire. It’s just as fast…as the compressor is not trying to fill 4 at once, and you avoid the hassle of untangling and repacking all that spaghetti. I’d rather have root canal than eff with 4 hoses, but that’s just my preference for simplicity. Many people differ and love those things.

I currently use a dual ARB under hood, with a single hose, after about three years of using my portable. It’s only about 3 minutes faster than my old setup, ignoring the time to pack and repack it. And it’s just as fast as 4 hoses.

It's really dependent on how much CFM the compressor can output. I've tried my Moreflate Tensix Pro one tire at a time and the 4 way hose is twice as fast plus doesn't get nearly as warm as one at a time. A single Schrader valve cannot take advantage of the high flow rate of the compressor and causes pressure build up in the hose and on the compressor head. I use a cheap Amazon 4 way hose that is easy to grab & go and works fine.

OP, This^^^ is the way to get what you’re asking for close to the dollars you want to spend.
I have the TrickFlate and was about to ask if there’s room under hood for it, as it does take up space in the back. I have the Rhino 4-way only because my local friend is a dealer. @Tricky Mike ‘s is very affordable though. Jump on that deal he offered you.
