New Recall #23S48 - REPLACE REAR VIEW CAMERA

22 WT here. I think I have had my camera be black one time. I noticed it like a week ago actually.
I parked without the camera, put the vehicle in park, back to reverse, camera was working. Haven't noticed it since.
But sure, I'll take a new camera whenever they get around to it.

I'd really like to at least know what the remedy is for the shocks though.
Like are they just throwing another set of the same bilsteins on? I don't want to go out & get something new until I find out what Ford is doing for the rears...

Mine built in 2nd qtr of 2022. So far, no problems. Did a VIN lookup last night and no recalls came up. Maybe I'm in the clear? Or maybe they haven't posted entire 129,000 qty list? Wait and see since parts not available anyhow. At any rate, I'll do it the old way and put my right hand on the passenger headrest and contort my body around and look back.

My rear cam works just fine and I have the recall.

Applies to my Wildtrak too; I see it in my Ford App.

At least they are replacing them...and not weaseling out like FCA under the guise of a TSB that only applies to the 3/36 warranty.

No need wasting our time trying to get it to fail, just deal with if it does. We've got enough other warranty crap to deal with we aren't going to get paid for. Got one right now 27 hours in and finally got our FSE off the programming hotline and back into the field. Only problem is he now has double the number of dealers assigned to him, 51 instead of the 20 some when they assigned him to the region.

To your point Flip, if I don't take my truck in for the rear cam recall(it is working just fine), and it fails 2 years down the road does the recall still apply? Is there an expiration date for recalls?

So far I have had had zero issues with my rear cam

How many years have rear-view cameras been around? Ford can't get this right, either. How do you screw this up?

My 2021 BL had a rear camera recall in September 2023 and has since been fixed. Is this the same issue?

Same for me. 2021 Badlands and already had the camera recall addressed last year. I only have the rear shock recall outstanding in the app.

Also a 2022 Badlands. I now have 3 open recalls: the rear camera, the rear shocks and the stupid seat belt latch plate, that I guess I will do when I am in for the other 2 recalls.

I just checked mine and I still just have the shock recall — no camera recall was added for me. I have a ‘24 Badlands w/ Lux. Based on the posts I have read, it seems like just ‘23 and older are included in this one. And I have never had problems with my cameras. (Yet. *knocks wood*)

I actually haven’t experienced the issue for a bit, but this recall did remind me it’s happened before. With the big spare tire cutting into the rear view, having the camera is a pretty huge safety feature. There’s always the chance someone can wander behind your car that’s below the top of the tailgate, and no amount of shoulder checking would ever make it possible to see them.

I've had no issues with my camera but it is a listed recall on my Ford app. 22 OBX
