It should’ve always dropped the window when pulling the handle. If it didn’t before, something was definitely wrong.
Pretty sure you are correct and my post above incorrect. Thanks.

Lots to catch up and discuss here with this real "first world problem...

I think a lot of it just has to do with poor window alignment.
I’ve never had any issues with mine, but I know a lot of people have.

There’s also nothing in common between the Mustang and Bronco obviously, other than the fact that they should operate similarly
The issue is that Ford has made auto drop windows on a plethora of models, for may years and even generation for frameless windows and for the most part, it just works. Now with the Bronco, it's fip-flop hell.

I think the reason is bugs me so much is the large vibration it imparts to the windows on every single door open, which just can't be good for the seals, window mounting, upper seal, etc.

I've seen these threads before, and I still don't understand why people would want this "feature".....Sounds great when it's raining out to pop all the windows open upon unlock so water dumps in.....
Maybe you have not noticed the feature? It only drops the windows about 3/8th of an inch and does not interrupt the glass to upper seal joint. The water comes in during the required part of opening your door to get in .

...
Fast-forward to Friday, February 15, 2025. A software update occurred and my windows now have resumed their as built function. They all drop down slightly when I pull the door handle or use the key fob Or interior unlock button

I had to go out and just check, but all four of the window windows do roll up in sequence - one door at a time just like it mentioned was unique to the 2025 models.
Out of curiosity I went out and checked my 2024 WildTrak (build date 11/24).

The windows only drop when grabbing the handle. They do not drop when unlocking with the fob. I am fine with them working the way that they do as that is what I am used to with my other two cars.
Wow, contradictory behavior between two '24s AND contradictory behavior to Ford's claim that some of these window features will only be for 2025 models. Looks like the flip-flopping i only growing. Ugh.

My '23 only nudges via handle operation, not via fob. And to be clear, I am talking about NUDGING, not the hold the fob button for auto windows down. I'd sure like the nudge back on fob unlock. The window is not fast enough for the nudge down on handle to actually have its intended function.

The one thing Ford is – – – is consistent with the inconsistent application of software across the bronco platform.

To me, it seems odd that some vehicles within the same model year would have different software is very confusing.

I will attempt to attach a short video of my model year 2024 bronco. Showing how the windows are currently working (after the February update I received) as I thought it might help some of the folks to understand how the windows are supposed to work. However, based on the first post in this thread, the way, the windows close is supposed to be unique to the 2025 model year.

I know this bulletin says “exclusively” to the 2025 Bronco, but obviously this feature has been out before to certain Broncos.

But I believe this was just Ford’s way of saying, “we aren’t going to try and make it backwards compatible again like we did before.”

You also have to remember who this bulletin is actually for. It’s not for customers, it’s for dealership employees and technicians who don’t know every single year by year feature change of every vehicle. So them saying “exclusively” for 2025 is just so employees are aware and don’t try to fix something when a customer comes in complaining that their 2024 doesn’t work the same as their friends 2025, which is why they follow up the statement of it being exclusively for 2025 by saying “is not available to be added to older model Bronco vehicles”

Also, the contradictory behavior between 24MY can easily be explained by current DDM/PDM software. One may be up to date, one may not be. Either way this was already addressed by Ford’s previous statement on this feature last year.

So I pulled my 2024 Heritage out of storage, and got this...
Ford Bronco Window short drop feature returns for 2025 Bronco 1000017936

Of course, my '24 already dropped the windows with the keyfob, but this seems like something else.
"One touch up" Refines the feature for smoother operation?
I didn't know there was an issue with this before. Worked perfectly fine! What about 1 touch down? That didn't need any refinement? Lol
Is Ford just trying to keep people at work, or...? 🤷🏻
Is there another thread on this maybe 🤷🏻

See the link in my post right before yours. Probably an update to fix the issues they were having with the one touch up/down feature caused by the short drop window feature.

Or it could be something separate they changed, who knows honestly 😂

That is the same update I received in mid February.

Prior to that my windows would drop down when I hit the unlock button and we go up when I hit the lock button, but they did it all at once

After the update, the window started closing in sequence when I hit the lock button either inside the vehicle or from the key fob

Would be interested if you could check your vehicle now and see if you unlock the vehicle with the key fob and then hit the lock button. Do they all go up at once or in sequence?

Then try it again after the update and see if there’s any difference.

I'll check in the morning once the update installs. I'm in a 2 door BTW, so it'll be interesting to see if it staggers just for 2 windows. 🤷🏻

I have a late build 2023.
I didn't want to lose the auto window drop on unlock so I've been holding off on installing the window update DDM-24.11.5. But after 6 months of reminders from my Bronco to do the update, I finally broke down and accepted the update today. Based on @Dreamer previous comment in this thread, there is a subsequent update DDM-24.12.1 that brought back the window drop on unlock for his vehicle. So, I figured WTH just go with the updates and see what happens.

Shit my ‘24 has always done the short drop on all 4 when unlocking with the fob. I let it update the other day, I hope that didn’t go away. The rocks turning into a horse screen went away in the previous update and I’m still pissed about that. Anyone I showed the bronco to was impressed by that.
It'd be nice if they let you choose a loading screen (I'd keep the rocks too).

No, mine doesn't do that and never has (I have a '22).

Sure, water would get in to a door you're opening when you open it......my point was more that with every window dropping, even ones you're not opening could get water in them?

Regardless of which window, as I stated, the nudge is not large enough to let water in.

I figured as much. I was just saying I don’t have it
When I had the fob drop feature on my ‘23 BD I don’t really recall if both of my windows (2 door) dropped. I always assumed it was only my driver window. Does anyone know how it worked (works) for a 2 door?

On my 24 WT (2 door) both windows drop after pushing the unlock button on the fob. Pushing once and then again holding it down for a few seconds

That’s a completely different feature

Copy. Just went out and checked. Key fob lock/unlock does nothing for the "drop". Only drivers door window "drops" when the drivers door handle is engaged
