Out of curiosity I went out and checked my 2024 WildTrak (build date 11/24).

The windows only drop when grabbing the handle. They do not drop when unlocking with the fob. I am fine with them working the way that they do as that is what I am used to with my other two cars.

I also don't believe I have any updates pending.
Did you hold down the unlock button on the key fob? That's how it works to slightly lower the windows on mine.

Holding down the button lowers all the windows as long as you hold the button. Yes, that feature I have. I suppose if you hold and then release as soon as the windows start coming down it does what is being discussed in this thread, but that's not what I understood the complaints were about.

I of course could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

My 2024 and I am pretty sure prior model years does the short drop when each individual door is opened. It seems there is no need to do this to all the windows every time it is unlocked. Maybe it makes it easier for Ford to program it that way.
My cheap ass 2 dr has window drop when i just opened the door )

My 2022 slightly drops all windows with the FOB or the cabin unlock button and it’s great! Especially when you are giving someone a ride and they are those people that open and slams the door like their life depends on it. Helps avoid the window getting caught on the roof trim.

In Brazil whenever the passenger slams a vehicle door shut the driver often shouts in Portuguese: “WTH MAN? YOU DONT HAVE A FRIDGE AT HOME? Close it like a fridge door!”

So funny! And actually makes sense!

Just an FYI:
Ford has brought back the window short drop feature.
Unfortunately this is specific to 25MY, and they do not mention anywhere about bringing it back or making it work again for previous model years.

So ridiculous of Ford. I had the feature with my ‘23 BD and don’t have it with my now ‘24 Heritage. My window nudges down only when my hand is within the handle. Liked the remote unlock function better. Why Ford brings it back only for the MY 25 is just another one of their mysteries.

I have a 23 Heritage and mine doesn't drop until I pull the handle halfway. I usually remember but it's impossible to remind people every time they get in the passenger side. I've adjusted the windows several times because they get caught on the weather strip.

I don't get it... what's the difference?
Most likely its related to the windows snagging on the weather stripping issue. However the issue is caused by misaligned windows and it is not necessary if they are adjusted correctly. The windows should only engage the top rubber by 3mm. If it is more than this they will snag. All four of my windows snagged when by Bronco was new. I performed the adjustment myself and no issues for almost 3 years.

Has anyones window actually shattered from opening and closing?

Legit laughing at this thread. 6 pages of “My windows are going to shatter!” On a truck that’s supposed to be driven hard off road.

The things people stress about on here. I’ve never even thought about it and believe it or not all of windows are still intact!

I’m just here to eat popcorn and enjoy.

side note: It’s a nice feature on my 25HE. Just odd when they all go back up individually. I’ll probably use this feature very little since I use the keyless pretty much exclusively.

Yeah same thing.
Some older models have it, some don't, some had it and then it was removed... it's a mess lol
If you currently have it, and you like the feature, I would highly suggest that you never update your DDM or PDM because it will likely take it away.
Shit my ‘24 has always done the short drop on all 4 when unlocking with the fob. I let it update the other day, I hope that didn’t go away. The rocks turning into a horse screen went away in the previous update and I’m still pissed about that. Anyone I showed the bronco to was impressed by that.

My October build 2024 does not do the 4-window drop when unlocking with the fob. It does a precise window drop when opening each individual door.

It’s not supposed to. The original release of this feature was in July of 2023.
Then it had a bunch of issues so ford removed it from some vehicles that had it.
I figured as much. I was just saying I don’t have it
