Just wrapped up the install of Boomba spacer kit. Learned some tips and tricks that were not mentioned in the instructions. I’ll be sure to share them when I get around to making a video of the installation.

Lining up the EGR tube and the manifold spacer is bit of a pain, but overall it was pretty easy.

Only put 5 miles on her so I’ll need to drive her a bit more to let the ECU adjust to it. Plan to do some Dragy comparisons and hitting the drag strip this weekend.

Link to the Manifold and TB spacer

Love the Go-Fast!

Even if your plans might never include going off-road, slow or baja speeds, how do you think this setup would help or hurt?

I'm thinking about things like the RPMs where the boost hits and would it be manageable at slow speeds and such. The 4dr wheelbase, fortunately, is better suited for baja-style driving, but just curious about your opinion.

Well now we need a list of everything you beat at the strip (so I can tell my friends "there's this dude with a Bronco that's faster than x" haha)

I've done it all. Slow rock crawling, high speed bombing through dirt, and now Drag racing :)
I don't see any instance where having more power would be worse in those scenarios, as the power band is similar to stock, just more of it. I guess you could argue, more power means more breakage ;) My drivetrain is in need of some TLC.

Slow day at the strip, but beat everything I raced. Keep in mind, nothing I raced was really that fast.

  • Mustang 3.7L (Lightly modded)
  • 90's 5.0 Fox body with bolt-ons
  • 2020 F150 2.7L with CAI
  • 2015? Mustang 2.3L with a huge turbo (He would've smoked me, but let off mid way down the track, as he's still working out some tuning bugs) Best time he ran was a 12.5
Lots of old timers came up to me and said they loved the Bronco. They thought I put nitrous on it :)

Noticed it was bucking you pretty hard with wheel hop. What is your launch technique?
RT could use some work...:wink:jk.

You're not wrong. My RT was terrible... I was paying too much attention to my launch RPMs.

My best run was in "Sand mode" which Adam from ZFG Racing turned into Drag mode. The shifts are quicker and it revs higher between each shift.

Here's what I did.
  • 2nd Gear Launch
  • 4 High
  • Advance Trac off
  • Rear locker on (Turned it off after I launched)
  • Left the line at 2.5K RPMs
On the street I can leave the line harder (Around 2.75-3K) RPMs
I also get better times on the street

Thanks!
Now that it's getting cooler down here and I have my mods done (with the exception of the methanol injection). I'm going to try a few dragy passes again. Wish me luck.

I ended up deleting some of my 0-60 and 1/4 mile Dragy results, but didn’t touch my 1/8 times. I’ve launched this Bronco over 100 times since I’ve got the Dragy. The drivetrain is extremely robust, though my front driveshaft is starting to make noises and I’m pretty sure my hubs are too. Plan to replace some of these components in the future, but the Bronco still drives great and I’ve beaten the crap out of it.

Maybe they can steel the line lock programming from the Mustang. That might be useful.

ZFG Racing has a trans brake option for the Explorer ST so maybe he can bring that over?

A new tire and rim setup would make a big difference. Maybe some Nitto 555 315/60/17 on some RTR EVO 6 wheels would make a big difference. I’d probably get into 12.50’s with that setup at the track.
