I'm ordering my 2025 Bronco Badlands next week. I plan on adding a catback exhaust and a KNN intake. Will these mods void my warranty?

Whatever you do, don't wax the hardtop

Humor aside, aftermarket part's themselves don't void the warranty per say. The dealer would have to prove that the aftermarket part itself caused the failure. That said, I have seen over the years some shady dealer practices on this and I have also seen other dealers go above and beyond in taking care of their customers.

I'll end with this, if you are super concerned about it, you can always look at the Ford Performance/Roush offerings.

Yip-basically this. And if a dealer is selling broncos with aftermarket lifts “with a full warranty” that warranty is probably only at that dealer. But the salesmen have people believing otherwise. Some crazy lady with a three inch puck lift - “My dealer sells them that way and does NOT void the warranty!” Okay lady. Take that broken axle to a different dealer that didn’t make $4000 profit on a $300 lift and ask them to warranty it. 🙄

The point here really is that while nothing ever truly "voids" your overall warranty you have to understand that when you modify anything you then leave it somewhat up to chance as to whether or not your dealer is one of those that is going to try and figure out a way to not do warranty work (which from what I understand about it isn't very profitable if any).

There will be a bunch that pound the drum of "gaaaaahhhhhh the dealer must prove to the world that the part caused the failure!!!" etc and quote a few law cases... but at the end of the day unless you're prepared to spend a bunch of money on lawyers you're better off just driving to another dealer and hoping for better luck or just fix it on your own. Warranties are kinda like other types of insurance.. sometimes you win big and most of the time you lose in the long run. They don't sell extended warranties because it makes them feel good.. its profitable for them.

So you can either be one of those who are scared to look at it wrong as to protect some warranty or you can live a little and enjoy the toys. If you're someone who can't afford to repair or replace anything on your own dime (or don't want to) then modifications probably aren't in your best interest.

Just have to use some common sense really.. as @SierraBronco provided as an example - if you shove a 3" puck lift on it then you're taking your CV's into your own hands potentially but your headlights shouldn't be denied coverage etc

The dealer thought I was making some kind of joke when I asked about the warranty on our suspension. I mean…the LCA’s are still a Ford part…🤔

I hear that driving it more than 3 years causes the Factory Warrantee to expire.

That’s a good read right there.

You have rights, but only if you can afford to pay a lawyer to assert them for you and you are willing to be inconvenienced in the process.
Yep. True of just about any right you have!

Yup, I've said this for years, going back to thevboard in the early 2000s. There is no Magnusson-Moss police department to call, so unless you hire a lawyer, they don't have to "prove" anything.

Plus, people forget the spirit of the M-M act was not so we could all go throw 10" lifts and 45s on our Broncos and then make the local dealer prove that is what caused our transaxle to grenade. The purpose of the M-M act was to keep manufacturers from requiring OEM parts for maintenance. Imagine if you had to go to Ford for oil, filters, brake pads, etc. or lose the Warranty! ;)

Plenty of people have to fight for warranty even without mods. My thoughts are no real mods until warranty is over.

I'm too old to wait. My health is OK at the moment but at any time could fall apart due to ticking time bombs. I had to wait over a year before I finally had the financial wherewithal to order a Bronco (now happening before the end of this year). When my Bronco arrives I'm going to do careful mods (i.e. don't stress the CV axles) and let the chips fall where they may. This will be my last vehicle and I'm going to have fun in it.
