Yes but it’s not a waste gate noise. I have looked into that and it’s clearly an octane ping.
I isolated the waste gate and still the noise is present.
Ok. It’s the metal stem that goes from the actuator to the gate itself that rattles (and seems to stop once it’s warmed up in there and I assume everything expands to fight tighter), so if you mechanically pulled that and it’s not it - then I dunno. That’s all I got

The answer to OP’s question is still yes. I doubt anyone here other than me has ever even read a new vehicle warranty.

No it's not. I would literally warranty a camera concern without any issue whether there was a reinforcement bracket or not as long as the camera itself has not been modified.

Warranty coverage determined by the dealer. So if someone is worried about warranty, they should ask their dealership who will be performing any repairs.

Im talking about the warranty. The thing OP asked about. I don’t care what you cover when you don’t have to cover it.

Seeing as how the 2 experts are disagreeing, I think the answer is that, while many dealerships might not deny the warranty, they could and would be legally able to.

Yes, so am I.
Simply installing a tailgate reinforcement doesn’t affect the warranty on the camera.

Yes, at the end of the day, dealerships can try and deny anything they want. But denying camera warranty because a small 1/4” plate was placed behind the spare tire mount doesn’t make any sense at all lol

If any dealership tried to claim that, you likely don’t want your vehicle serviced there to begin with.

You may have missed this part, counsel:
Didn’t miss it. Any reinforcement will obviously mount behind the tire carrier.
But like I said above, simply putting a spacer behind the mount doesn’t affect camera operation at all.

If you start changing the actual factory tire carrier/camera mount to an aftermarket one, or have to modify the camera wiring like @Brian_B previously mentioned, then yes that would obviously no longer be warranty. But 99% of reinforcements don’t require any modifications to the mount or camera.
