Not for me but I don't outright hate it. A family friend had a Gen4(?) on black (not gray) I thought was sweet AF as a little kid. I don’t hate the wheels either and seem like throwbacks to their mag wheels with fins they sent out on broncos back then. Looked good and were bombproof but your wheel cleaner had to have acid in it to get the brake dust off. Latex gloves required.

New Ford Bronco Free Wheeling Package Brings Vibrant Look to Trails

2025 Ford Bronco Free Wheeling_01 (1).jpg

  • New Free Wheeling appearance package for 2025 Bronco adds modernized heritage and sunset-inspired design touches that pay tribute to Ford’s Free Wheeling vehicles from the ‘70s and ‘80s
  • Based on the popular Bronco Big Bend with high performance Sasquatch off-road package, Bronco Free Wheeling provides accessibility and capability to go with its style
  • 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling is available with a standard soft top, an optional molded-in-color removable hardtop, or premium Shadow Black painted roof

DEARBORN, Mich., October 8, 2024 – The new 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling appearance package has arrived with a burst of red, orange, and yellow style inspired by Ford’s Free Wheeling trucks, vans and Broncos of the ‘70s and ‘80s.

From the late 1970s to the early 1980s, the Free Wheeling package was available for the Ford F-100, F-150, Bronco, Econoline van, and added graphics with red, orange and yellow gradients, painted steel wheels, and black finishes on the grilles, mirrors, and bumpers. Inside the vehicle featured red and orange pin striping on the dash and seat stitching.

The 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling honors that vibrant and confident style.

“Bronco has always been about fun and capability since day one and Free Wheeling’s looks kick that up a notch with its sunset inspired beach vibes,” said Steve Gilmore, Ford Vehicle Personalization chief designer. “We’ve modernized the new Bronco Free Wheeling in line with today’s fashion and graphic trends, including seats that mimic the color palette of the exterior stripes and unique pops of color that come together in an optimistic way.”

The 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling is available as an optional appearance package for the Big Bend trim, adding reflective red, orange, and yellow graphics on the body sides, body color door handles, and an Iconic Silver grille with a red “BRONCO” wordmark.

The Free Wheeling includes standard 17-inch gloss-black steel wheels, while the optional Sasquatch package (pictured) adds 17-inch gloss-black wheels with a machined lip that includes red pockets. All Bronco Free Wheeling SUVs feature unique seats with a mix of Marine-Grade Vinyl and fabric upholstery.

Along with the return of Free Wheeling, an optional premium Shadow Black painted roof is available, along with the standard soft top and available molded-in-color removable hardtop.

Look The Part with New Free Wheeling Merchandise Line

To celebrate the launch of the new Bronco Free Wheeling package, Ford is also launching a line of merchandise inspired by the package’s distinctive graphics. The collection puts the sunset-inspired style of the Free Wheeling package on full display, with several t-shirts, hats, and even a bomber-style jacket and insulated vest. Fans of the Free Wheeling package can visit the Ford online merchandise store to see more.

The 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling will be available in January 2025.

I like those wheels, but I feel like I would murder them with rock rash. I also wish they were non-Squatch offset. I wouldn't buy this package, but I do think it looks good on black and silver.

New gauge cluster, and something is definitely different in front of those cupholders.

First time posting on the forum in a while.

I actually like the way the Free Wheeling edition looks- the stripes look extremely well done in my opinion. I like that we first we got the Heritage Edition showcasing the Bronco from the '60s and now this model that showcases the Bronco from the '70s. What's next, an '80s themed design? I'd love to see something like that.

Hopefully this will look just as good with the steel wheel option they're telling us about. Any idea if this would be available in a 2-door bodystyle?

So they use the old engine design for 1 year in the brand new updated ranger, then switch?
Like I said, I could be wrong. Just don't see Ford doing that in my opinion 🤷‍♂️
You could be right but this is being done for emissions which makes it priority (the Explorer recently got it mid-cycle) so clearly the older 2.3L is getting phased out and I don't see why the Ranger timeline would stand in the way of that progress especially given it's the low volume seller in the Ford lineup.

We will see shortly I guess. I hope you’re right. I think the updated 2.3 with the additional port injection would be really nice to have.
