Those of you with the electric sway bar disconnect. I'm looking for some opinions. Ford parts is running a sale on them for $1300. I daily drive my black diamond 4 door and am considering adding it. I don't want an aftermarket that is noisy. The rockjock antirock requires offset change. So it's offset plus anti rock which is pretty close in price.

Not quite sure about the question, but I would say if you plan on wheeling moderate to difficult terrain, the AntiRocks do well. There's also the Boss 4x4 Walker Links, which are the cheapest by far and easy enough to install. I have the e-disco of course, which is cool enough. I don't think any of it's really noisy?

Sorry my wording was awful looking back.

Since it's my daily. I don't want a noisy manual

The antirock at the moment will cost me almost the same price as the e-disco due to offset change. Is the e-disco worth adding to an upfitter switch or is it a waste of $1300?

So... my 2 cents

If you don't want to crawl under and undo the bolts, then yeah, I would go with the electric disconnect.

None of the other options seem to be nearly there - either they don't articulate nearly as well, or they wear out and get noisy, or you gotta get in there anyway to adjust air pressure, and/or they cost nearly as much anyway.

So I'd say - if you are sick of undoing the bolts, yeah, go for it.

For me, I carry a 21mm wrench and a 6mm allen key.

"noisy manual"... what? lol

What are you going to do with it?

The cheapest solution is to remove the sway bar, full stop. Next are the releases you get under and pull pins on, although lots of people have regretted these, since they can break. You can also manually disconnect when you want. These may also clang a bit...

If you're not going to wheel it harder than most, the Boss 4x4 Walker Links are $400-500 and you don't have to mess with them. They're little shocks in place of the sway bar attachment arm. These work on all models. You don't get full articulation, but it is improved to the basic sway bar.

If you want a torsion bar for plantedness while wheeling a little tougher terrain, the AntiRocks are a great product. I think you realize you'll need wheel spacers, increased offset wheels or non-Sas for these to work, but it's worth noting they don't work with Sas without moving the rims out. Maybe these make noise after a while? I haven't heard that, but it's possible.

If you want full articulation and/or want push button sway bar actuation, the e-disco is good. It's not loud? I also don't think it's hard to install, but I have it already. One downside is that there were problems with them early on. They are the most sophisticated solution, so things can go wrong.

Would the Walker links provide any additional benefit to the e-disco? I know - added cost...

Also, have the reported problems with the e-disco been due to the part itself or the interface between it and the other e-systems? I haven't heard of any reports from those who have retro fitted it with an Aux switch.

On adding the Walker Links to the e-disco, supposedly yes. I've actually thought of doing that, and others on the forum have said that it smooths the ride out. I think once disconnected, they're basically out of the way, but maybe @Boss Broncos can clarify that.

My understanding on the e-disco issues are the disco hardware fails. And that it does so in a way where it has to be fixed (limp mode) if you have it on the computer. On an AUX switch, I suppose at worse you just disconnect and/or remove it.

If you have it on a WT as an aux switch, I assume you'll be fine even if it goes out.

Imho the badlands disconnect is the best option for on & off road use…full sway bar for highway handling & disconnected for full articulation offroad…I have one on the garage floor waiting to get on a buddy’s rack to install…rockjock is basically a “weaker” bar that may be better at medium speed off road running if that is what ya want(lots of Jeep folks swear by them)…the little “shock” things make the stock bar kind’a ”progressive”, but may give ya more articulation than stock…everything I have read about the manual ones for bronco says “junk” to me… Good Luck!

Other than this Pic I had to take with less than 5k miles, I have really liked the difference in body roll and articulation while offroad. It was a sensor that randomly thought it was disconnected when it wasn't. $1,300 to replace plus $800 for the sensor (all warranty). It really does make a difference, good luck.

I would go with the e-disco again if it were me. I would also look into getting the Badlands skid plate to protect your investment. If my e-disco ever fails I will just replace it or pull it out all-together.

Question: if the sensor for the Badlands stock disconnect goes bad after the Bronco is out of warranty…could you just bypass the sensor? Looks like it could be a cheap alternative compared to replacing an overpriced sensor as noted above.

MJ12, do you know what sensor was replaced?
I’ve had this issue off and on since new, dealer says there is no error record of it occurring. Unbelievable the first time I dropped it off at the dealer it had the sta/bar disconnect error for 3 months or so. They got in it to drive into the shop and the error alarm had disappeared from the gauge display!
