@Bmadda - Do the portals have 93.1mm hub? Curious if the factory hub centric wheels will properly center.

Do you think the OEM Big Bend factory wheels will fit?

They are 7.5” wide and +55mm. These would give a total width of 82.66” (outside of sidewall). We are running the Nitto 37x11.5R17 which can fit 7.5” wheels. Perfect tread width for hwy and off road (exact tread width of factory Sasquatch tires). Plus we are averaging 19-20 mpg in town (5 mile drives).
They aren't hub centric, the hub is just a bolt on dust cap and its really small. Any wheel you use you gotta center w/lugs

You are right... the factory hubs... there is nothing there to center on... I thought there was... Makes sense that the factory wheels are not though due to addition manufacturing tolerancing requirements. They would be too expensive to mass produce. I never really thought that through before. Thank you sir!

How is the install going?

So I got the whole kit installed! Unfortunately my 40s are in my trailer (I got sick of tripping over them), and the trailer is snowed in 🤬. Gonna need some thaw to even get into it! Drove it on the 37s and all seems fine, except I think I may have a bad throttle body...happened to me once before in this kinda weather, goes into limp randomly.

Bleeding the brakes is a fun adventure! But other than that this kit more or less falls right together! Really impressed w/the quality of everything included! Even fluid, but if I read the instructions correctly the last page says "new portals: purchase low end gear oil from your local parts store, drive on this oil for 200 miles, then drain and fill w/maxima pro gear". I took this to mean just run some 80w90 conventional gear oil for 200 miles? That's what I put in em anyway.

Got the brake hoses situated a little neater...just gotta play with them a little. The rear one can be zip tied tight to the parking brake motor to keep it pretty much out of harms way! Fronts are pretty easy.

Nice job with the brake lines... I follow what you did there. Well done... So very glad to hear how straight forward that went! and yes The "low cost gear oil" for 200 is exactly as I read it as well....

Poke does not look too bad. Actually looks damn good! I can live with that very happily.

and that bucket is probably 14.5"... so we are looking at 16 inch to bottom of diff approximately...

The 40s should get you to just about 18.... NICE!.... and what a BRaptor on 37s has 13.1"????

Oh yea baby!

In regards to the brake calipers, I'm sure if it was possible or easy it would have been in the instructions, but has anyone looked at swapping them side to side to get the bleeder back on top instead of on the bottom?

Nope those are squatch wheels, BL optionals are on my other one currently. I would love to play musical tires, but I'm too tired now!

Calipers are a mirror image... you can not swap them side to side.

@Bmadda Are you gonna be able to get that beast out on some trails this winter? Also, did you do anything to adjust for the manual trans issue?

Unless I'm mistaken, it appears that the common theme among portal owners is to retain use of the OEM struts. In many cases, the OEM Fox struts.

HOSS suspension with 38's and portals would be a dream set-up for me. You could run over a Fiat and not even know it.

don't do extra work on behalf of me.
sorry you guys have to deal with my OCD/mental illness :)

Judging by the look of the tire, i'm going to guess they are 12.5 width, so 37x12.5r17 on the Sasquatch wheel.

The good news is ford performance says both wheels are suitable for overlanding!! 🤪

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but more than once on Jeeps and Chevy pickups I've put the caliper brackets on the wrong side when putting all new brake systems on, and not discovered the error until I went to bleed the brakes, that's possible BECAUSE they are mirror images that can swapped side to side if you do the bracket and caliper as a unit. I'm not saying it's possible or practical in this case, just asking if anyone has even checked the possibility.
