Hi!

I bought a used bronco badlands however the previous owner does not have the wheel lock for the lug nuts. Is there any way I could remove the wheel locks without destroying my rims.

thanks

You can buy replacement locking lug nut keys or as previously recommended the dealer should have a master set.

They’re useless
Like he said ... Forgot to give the tech at Goodyear Tires the key. He torqued them off with his air gun. Had them toss 'em and put regular lug nuts on. Never looked back. ... Try your local tire dealer. One way or another, I a sure they will get them off.

Have you looked around the vehicle? He or a tech put it somewhere and forgot.
First place to start is with the lug wrench. It may be wrapped in something like a rag so it didn't bounce around.

I had a set of tires put on my 4Runner. As we were driving home I had this feeling that I should check that they put my lug key back with lug wrench.

Pulled over and looked, nope. Had to go back to the tire store and get it.

I could easily see somebody driving away from a tire place and not thinking about the key.

Hi! Unfortunately the dealership did not offer me that solution but i will try a different dealership. I thought I could just buy a new OEM set but I’m not sure if the lock will be the same.

Most dealers should have a master kit. Give them a call before heading down. Swap out the locks for regular lug nuts or they can order you a new key once matched up.

Good morning
I don't trust any dealer. My locks are advancedwheels lock, so I remove them before going to the dealership. I believe we are responsible for what happens to us. So I believe in myself to take care of my business not at the dealerships or the mechanic. sorry for you but if not ADVANCESWHEELS LOCK with a box and a 30 second hammer They are removed. ask you tube to check the method.

Same thing happened to me at the local tire dealer with my Porsche. It makes me think that you need check to make sure they put all the lug bolts back on lol.

Seems like a lot of low end mechanics are lazy and sloppy. My suggestion is you find one whose committed to doing good work and stick with them or take things into you own hands.

I did and made sure the lock fit the lugs. Also checked the lug nut torque.

Remember when using wheel lock key. No impact drivers only hand tools. We use our master kit when vehicles have wheel locks. Some customers have no idea where they store the key.
