I ordered the McGards recommended in this thread a month ago to put on my BD steelies. The Bronco showed up a few days ago and they do not work. The issue is that the plastic centerpiece Bronco logo will not be held in place with the McGards. I had to either drive around without the center cap or put the chrome lug nuts back on. I chose the second option. I'm going to give the Ford Performance ones a try.

Anyone else had issues with steelies and black lug nuts?

Thanks,

This issue was mentioned earlier in the thread. I think it’s OK with the First Edition and WildTrak wheels, but not the others.

Gorilla spline drive lugs was one of my first mods. See CJ Pony Parts for a kit of 27 for the Bronco.

Just finished the swap with the McGard lugs and locks. The McGards are taller and don't have the bulge/ring, so if you really look closely you can see a little unpainted metal at the base of the nut. Not going to bother me, but would only take a quick touchup to make that go away.

Looks great 👍 so those are conical style. I don't see why they wouldn't work on my Wildtrak wheels.🤔

Looks great. Would you mind sharing what lugs you used and how you blacked out the center cap? That is the exact work that I want.
I’d like to know how you blacked out the center cap as well.
