One thing I've learned with car purchases for the wife - If she wants the sasquatch package, get her the sasquatch package. She'll also likely never get a flat tire or curb rash on the rims. It drives just fine, and the OBX comes standard with steps. My only forewarning is that make sure she sits/test drives a sasquatch version before pulling the trigger so shes aware of the ride height. Unless shes spent time in the likes of an F-150/Tahoe, etc. My wife hates my OBX sas, but then again, it's not her vehicle.

No squatch. Just add beefy tires for her. Better tires alone will do a lot for the look of it.

6 pages of advice so I'm not going to add anything of value, but I'm going to say it anyway!

I bought a Big Bend off the lot to "hold me over" till I got one I could order to my specs. I ended up adding my customization to it slowly and now it looks like a completely different vehicle/trim. Turns out I like it so much I'm going to wait until the Bronco gets a face lift, mod top, hybrid, or better towing capacity before I order a new one.

So much can be done to make it look the way you like and it'd be unique to your wife.

Side note: I've taken my Bronco off-road a lot without lockers and 3.73 gears and it performs amazing. I'm not rock crawling in Moab but I'm definitely going on more than just a dirt road. Recently did an off-road training course with two Badlands Sasquatches and my Big Bend did everything theirs did without issue.

On the OBX order that you have did you include the 4.27 gears ($795)? The standard OBX comes with 3.73 gears. The 4.27 gears would be better if you go the route of adding larger tires/wheels.

Spending an extra $6-7k for looks seems insane to me. Plus the far worse gas mileage.

Yeah, the tires and wheels are awful, but you can just grab a set of BD takeoffs for around $1000.

I once tried to convince my wife to get the 'upgraded' edition of her car because it came with Apple Carplay which I thought she would prefer, but she hated the wheels. Nope, we stepped back a model because she couldn't stand the wheels.

It is pretty simple -- tell XO the status of her order and let her decide if she wants to re-order and wait for sasquatch or if she is fine with upgrading the wheels, tires, lift, steps, and fenders to get the look she wants, which could take a couple weeks. It will look the same.

There is no way that she will buy into the non-sas wheels, especially if she mentioned it before. It's a big purchase to accept. You can offload the wheels and tires on here or FB marketplace.

Hi all, just joined up hoping for some help. My wife has wanted a Bronco really bad since they were announced. We recently placed an order for an Outer Banks, since I felt that was close to what her use case was. We never offroad, except maybe the occasional trip up to a cabin (which our standard AWD SUV handles just fine). This will pretty much just be used for work commute and errands.

But now that it's soon to arrive, I'm finding out she wanted the Sasquatch package. But only for the looks, not out of any realistic off-road need. While I'd have concerns about noise/comfort/etc. on road, she's driven both and seems fine with it. She says she doesn't like the looks of the Outer Banks standard, she wants the bigger and beefier tires.

I don't want to push her to settle, but I also don't want her to hold off for a Sasquatch, paying a lot more money, and have regrets when the honeymoon period is over.

I've thought about pushing for aftermarket wheels, but not sure that's worth it after labor costs, voided warranty, mucked up gearing and speedometer, etc.

All that to say, hoping for any advice, personal experience, or ideas to help me out with advising her. Thanks!
If it's just for looks, I'd skip the Sasquatch and just go with a wheel/tire upgrade. You can even pretty easily find OEM wheels secondhand if you want to keep a more "original" look. Changing wheels and tires won't void your warranty. I'd have her look at some Broncos with 33s and see if that is enough of an upgrade for her (like the Badlands). Probably it's not just the larger tire, but the Outer Banks tire is more of a street tire and she likes the look of a more rugged all-terrain tire like the KO2s. But definitely figure that out first. :) Oh, and it's really easy to recalibrate the speedometer, but if you went to 33s, I wouldn't even worry about it. For 35s, I would.

100% buy the Sasquatch, I got it for my wife's Bronco and she loves the looks. The Bronco will likely never need the off-roading part of the SAS package but I know that I'll get the money back in resale value alone, especially now that the cheapest way to get a 2 door V6 Sasquatch is about $13k more than what I paid for.

Ford performance lift with sas takeoffs and flares should do the trick. It’ll be less than opting for the sas package and if the dealer does your lift it will retain warranty.

Even less expensive option is to have the dealer swap the tires on delivery. Lots of people with 33” KO2s on stock OBX.
A couple in our neighborhood did exactly that, added 33's to a stock OBX and it looks great. Beefier look, tires not too wide for the factory flares and good height.

I have a lowly Base with the 30" wheels. Even with these wheels I have no desire for anything bigger. It did a fantastic job in Utah snow last year, it walked right through stuff AWD SUVs were getting stuck. Smaller tires = less weight = better handling = better ride = better MPG = less expensive to replace = easier to lift.

Not necessarily! I have a bonified Carvana offer for my Base with base tires for $10,000 more than the MSRP I paid, and that is 14 months old and 8K miles.
