I am looking into getting the Outer Banks but I am curious how the driving ability on the highway/side streets compare with sasquatch vs without; is it a huge difference on how it handles on the road?

I’ve driven a Wildtrak Sasquatch and an Big Bend non-Sasquatch. The Big Bend was a lot more comfortable, quieter, and ”smooth” on the road. Which is exactly what I expected. The Sasquatch package is designed for an off-roader. Higher off the ground, mud terrain tires, off-road suspension… everything you’d want for an off-roader.

It really depends on what you intend to do with your Bronco.

If it’s going to a daily driver that you occasionally go camping in or take down to the lake for the day, then I personally would skip the $4000+ for the Sasquatch package. No sense in spending the extra money—especially since you’ll lose 2-3 MPG by going with the Sasquatch package.

If your Bronco is going to be a daily driver that you’ll occasionally take on less-traveled trails for some cross-country skiing (as an example)… then I’d probably leave Sasquatch off but opt for the 4.27 locking rear diff.

But if it’s going to be an off-roader you intend to take wheeling or over some more advanced terrain—then yeah… Sasquatch package all the way.

Ironically, one of the recent bronco reviews posted on this site indicated that the SASQ was the best riding trim on the road. You need to do some testing.

I saw that post too. Something about the 18" rims contributing to it being the worst performing trim for on-road.

A lot OBX SAS vs Non-SAS talk today. I ordered one with SAS and have to admit the major influence was appearance. I'll take it on the beach, but that will be about it for me off-road.

Personally, I wouldn’t even want a non-Sasquatch Bronco. Especially not one with more doors. I honestly think I’d rather buy a Tacoma than a non-Sasquatch Bronco.

I have had the opportunity to drive a base 2dr non-sas, a BD 4dr sas, and a 4dr non-sas OBX. The OBX drove the best. Sas was definitely louder and the 35s could be felt, especially making tight turns. Agree that if you are going to do a lot of off-roading then SAS is way to go, but for a daily driver non will be a much smoother ride. In my opinion.

I went OBX non-SAS because the vehicle will be my daily driver as well as my long road trip (3k-5k mi.) truck. I like the look of the SAS a little more, but I'm not someone who finds the non-SAS OBX wheels/tires ugly or somehow less than masculine -- I think the difference in looks is more stark between 2dr and 4dr than between SAS and non. Daily practicality and price vs looking better... I choose daily practicality and price. If I want to improve the look I can always get new wheels later (probably when it becomes time to replace the first set of tires).

While I do plenty of driving on washboard dirt roads and rocky trails for my outdoorsy hobbies, I am currently doing so in a Mustang with regular street tires. Even a non-squatched "mall crawler" trim Bronc will be an immense step up in offroad confidence and ability for me.

Obviously anyone who wants to do advanced offroading should go SAS but OBX is a weird trim to land on if that's what you're after.

I am going to get a Badlands with 33's. Then have a set of 35's in the shop that I will throw on when we go off road.

I went OBX non-SAS. While I do plan on dipping my toes in some offroad camping adventures, it will still be my daily. My original plan was to replace the wheels and tires, but I might just slap some 33s on the OE wheels and call it a day..the looks of the OE OBX wheels has really grown on me
