The 2.7 valve dropping issue was all it took for me to change order to 2.3. Of course this all could have been eliminated with a V8 option.
True there was about a 3-month window in 2021 where you could have got one of the bad motors.

But all it took was for me to drive the V6 and then the I4 with Sasquatch a realizes no way in hell the I4 was going to cut it.

35" tires, overland build, v6 is required.

Drove both, didn’t notice an $1800 difference. Actually the motor options are the one thing I dislike about the Bronco. I am a certified geezer and tried and true V8 owner throughout life. The Bronco’s looks alone demand a V8.

If you haven't driven a 2.7 with the Ford Performance Tune and 91 octane in the tank, you're missing out.

They’ve been updated accordingly to the parts catalog. No idea what was changed or if it fixed anything however. I guess time will tell.
My service guy told me that the cam phasers were not updated in the 2.7 . And that there is no new updated cam phasers for 2.7. At least that’s what he told me . I hope he is wrong and they will install an updated part.

He’s wrong.
This is using my 22 Wildtrak VIN:

Exhaust phaser has been superseded once already.
Ford Bronco Another cam phaser failure, horrible Ford quality issue IMG_1128

And the intake phaser has now been superseded twice.

It could be the same part from a different vendor. Usually an A/B/C variant isn't a major difference in the part in my experience, its just a change in vendor. Oddly enough this is the only place on the internet that seems to have phaser issues so often on the 2.7.

This is where you come to find EVERY problem a Bronco could possibly have.

While it is a possibility, it’s unlikely. Most supersessions are due to a design change to repair an issue with the part, not because of a simple vendor change.

Kinda happy I have the esp to 7years/100k. But still sucks to know that your vehicle is going to be torn apart and will never drive like new again. Thats the worst part. Even if it gets covered under warranty. It becomes damaged goods. I think if this happens to me and ford simply replaces it with the same broke part, ill post the vehicle for sale. You dont want to deal with that. At that point ill probably go Toyota.

Oh it did for me. When I did my Off Rodeo I had a WT (which I specifically grabbed because that's what I ordered)...was in it all day so I got a good feel for it.

Then, the Bronco tour came to town at the local OHV park and I purposely grabbed a badlands to compare. There was a point where the instructor told me to give it the beans to feel "the powere" and I did...there was nothing there :)

And then finally the Broncos starting showing up and I took a I4 with Sas for a test drive. I hit the freeway and could instantly tell it was lacking....I even posted for people that were looking at large tires or overland builds to make sure to go test drive the I4 before hand to make sure...of course I got slammed.

If people are happy with their choice, that is all that matters! :)

We joke but yeah.... Load up 1,000lbs on your Bronco between armor, winches, camping gear, a d people, and those extra 2 cylinders will become "required" :)
