Sounds like the phaser gets quiet once the oil pressure is up to normal range.

The cam phaser issue was extended for 3.5L but unfortunately expired Jan 2023. A 2017 Raptor model is out of the 5yr powertrain warranty as well as that’s 5yr 60k miles not 50k miles and 6yrs as I originally thought.

Bumper to Bumper Warranty:

This policy has parts for your Ford model covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This includes all parts that fail during normal use due to a manufacturing issue in factory-supplied materials or craftsmanship.

so many? Like how many?

So you are saying the update phasers are in our engines already? If so that’s not good since so many of these engine phasers are failing so early

There are a lot of owners already that had the phaser’s replaced, some waited up to 5 months for parts just search the posts and you will see

I am messing with you. This is a forum and everything gets blown out of proportion.

i bet you have more blown 2.7 engines then you have cam phasers on the 2.7

It gets blown out of proportion because of the frustration Ford put most of us through already. First you had the long wait most of us over a year to get your vehicles built . Then once you got chosen to get build it sat around for months at Michigan awaiting shipment. Then you were at the mercy of the dealer so you can buy it for MSRP without additional mark up. And finally once you do get it all these problems started with quality like blown engines, bad drive shafts , bad fuel pumps , hard tops falling apart etc. So all these problems make you wonder what’s going to happen to my Bronco and when. So now for me knowing that the whole engine has to come out and be taken apart because of bad manufacturing is very frustrating. There was a member that had under 500 miles when his phasers went out. I thought they re designed the phasers after 2019. So if we have re designed phasers and those are going bad so soon. Should I get rid of my Bronco after it gets fixed? Would the next set of phasers go out too?

then sell it. Punish ford and not give them your money. Your wallet is your vote

Lol. Well said, but I do like it. I had a wrangler before for 7 yrs no problems. I got the Bronco because it looked like a better version of the wrangler. I just wish it would be more reliable.

A man woman person of few words!!
It's the truth. Rs focus was only issue with these motors and that was due to wrong head gaskets.

Ranger's/Mustangs have been bulletproof with 2.3's and i'll take a ford racing tuned 2.3 any day over a phaser rattling 2.7L with 5,000 miles.

Based on what I've read on this forum, Cam phaser issues are not new with Ford and have plagued them for some time.

If there is a new part number, maybe it is just a new vender with more consistent quality springs.

Yeah but even Jeeps famous 3.6 is known for rocker arm problems and that's a $5,000 plus job.

I just replaced all my rockers and valve lashers in a 3.6 with only 100k miles on it.

AND Jeeps have an issue with their oil coolers cracking because they are plastic.

The big difference is that you can fix all that in a Jeep sommuch easier. The Bronco requires the engine to be pulled, where I can be staring at the cams in my Jeep in an hour.

The 2.7 valve dropping issue was all it took for me to change order to 2.3. Of course this all could have been eliminated with a V8 option.
