Most likely need a subframe, you could have already stressed the crumple zone allowing more flex. I am pretty sure the new Lobo bracket is correcting this. I bet if you 37s you wouldn't have dragged!
I suspect it was more the mount bending this time but last time I jumped to conclusions it didn't turn out so well.

I'm about over this and will probably ditch the RC. Or gusset the hell out of it.

Man, I was just about to place my order for the RC High Mount. Would the IAG OR JCR mount be better?

Full investigation and report after I get home, but it appears I bent the mount or horns again. Came down hard on the fairlead and now the mount points upward more and the winch is smashed into the grill a bit.
Well shit

Wow. This is starting to make me consider one of the hidden skid plate mounts instead because they don’t depend on the frame horns. I would rather have access to the cable release and to see the cable spooling, but it seems Ford made the horns out of tissue paper.
I'm starting to think about that intercooler that mounts higher to set the winch between the frame rails then build my own bumpers front and rear. Getting real tired of banging my rear tow hooks off rocks too.

Maybe even bumpers I can sell...🤔

I have been looking at the RC high mount winch after I figured out the lower mount one will not work for my Badlands 2 door SAS with capable bumper.

I don't do as much off roading as you seem to do. I hit the trails at Windrocks some times and not much else.

Is this good enough in your opinion for just the average user? This is my DD so while off roading is fun, getting back and fourth to work is sort of important.

I really don't want to replace my bumper, unless I really need to.

See ya in July

Thanks
Mike

I just haven't seen an aftermarket bumper I really liked yet.
I can completely agree to this until I saw that new spec DV8. What you get for the price of it is truly hard to beat. Full bumper with pod space, plus light bar area, a skid plate for behind it, a Prerunner bar for protection, a winch mount and it’s pretty high and tight for $1200 with free shipping. Hard to beat for sure. But yes I do know what you mean. Everything is so expensive out here for not getting exactly what you want.

I really can't give an educated opinion because I don't have any experience with those - and maybe the RC is still OK. I did 1000% use the hardware properly this time.

I've seen them holding up for others so you might be OK with light use. I do believe frame reinforcements are mandatory if you're using the RC.

That is likely the best plan, something that centers the pull within the frame and also doesn’t block the front camera would be awesome. I’m not super excited about replacing the intercooler due to potential warranty implications later.

I like the look of the cradle behind the Lobo WNC winch bumper and it doesn’t require moving the intercooler, but I don’t care for the aesthetics of the outer shell and my new in box M-8000S wouldn’t fit. I’m not sure if their cradle triangulates to somewhere beyond the frame horns. Something like this cradle that could keep the mod bumper would be interesting.

I think there's a demand for a functional bumper that doesn't look like origami gone wrong.

The new Lobo bracket from TD or is Lobo actually making some changes?

IDK what Lobo is up to but my prototype is done and I'm going to install it in the next few days.
