One theory held by very few people since no one can point to this happening with any bronco out there. Plenty are running 37s and even 40s and this hasn’t happened yet.
did this not happen to BroncBuster, leading him to CNC that new rack?

Not defending BroncoBuster guy but this is what he has posted on his site.

https://broncbustertx.com/

The inner will pull down on the black "threaded" part causing wear and eventually binding on the racks housing.
Thats why the WT 3.0 and Braptors have a much beefier housing. To alleiviate probems with folks like BB running masive wheel offsets that cause extra leverage on the rack, especially with 40 inch tires, and an ego to oversell overpriced junk bandaid parts.

Looking forward to getting a set of these installed on my Bronco!

so reading though all this, let me get this right. replacing the stock tie rod ends with these icon tie rods the consensuses is that the steering rack will be the weak point then? Is this just a theory or proven?
The standard answer for any part on your 4x4 - When you beef up a weak link, it passes the loading on to other parts.

On our Broncos... Beef the tie rod up, it will be passing that load into the steering rack.

The question is: Will the steering rack hold up to the extra load coming into it or will it break.

Yeah these are the reason our coilovers have a bit less room for aftermarket tie rod braces than other MFG's coilovers. We had these in the works as our answer to the weak stock tie rods so we used some of that space to design a longer coil spring for longer travel and make it height adjustable over a longer range (including stock height). That actually got us into a little bit of trouble as we over-estimated the tolerances we had to work with and that resulted in interference on some installations. But these tie rods will work with our coilovers along with the adjustments we've made to our coilover kits and installation, which have been discussed over in that thread.
What's the fix for tie rod interference? I had to to ditch my Bronc Buster braces and even the smaller JCR sleeves still contact my Icon coilovers.

It's been discussed in our coilover thread. I sent you a PM with the tl/dr.

Icon provided prototype fixes to a few people about 2 months ago, but I think the rest of us are still waiting to receive a stud kit to fix the problem. I hope Icon will be able to provide these fixes soon. I'm disappointed that Icon has been taking so long to fix this.

If you don't want to wait for Icon tie rods, the Ford Performance rods (or entire rack) are available now, but the Icon coilover clearance may still be a show-stopper until Icon provides the fix.

Ok, educate me please.

Any known shape or diameter difference between the Braptor (edit: not Braptor, I meant Hoss 3.0) tie rods VS Icons? (Clearance / strength etc)

Will the Icon tie rods be compatible with the Braptor rack?

cheers.

2dr/4dr Hoss 1.0/2.0/3.0 rods are compatible, but BRaptor is different/unique.

Icon will compete with the Ford Performance rods (Wildtrak Hoss 3.0 parts). It is yet to be seen if one offers a clear advantage when paired with the light duty rack. The Icon price is expected to be lower than the individual ford parts available now.

What they need to do is create a tie rod that accounts for a lift kit bit keeps the steering angle. (Aka a tie rod drop)... So all these people that are lifting the Broncos don't start trashing their steering.

thanks for your comments. I eff’ed up my original question, I meant to ask if the Hoss 3.0 rack will be compatible with Icon’s tie rods. My bad. I’ve edited my post above.

I’m interested in to the Hoss 3.0 rack & rods as well as the Icon tie rods.
