The only thing the spare does not have is a center cap. Five rotate. UV will eat the spare eventually anyway so you aren't saving squat.

You guys are right… the manual does suggest a 5-tire rotation. About to show them that.

The manual is incorrect about requiring a forced relearn of the TPMS sensors. The Bronco handles that automatically.

So long as you‘re on stock wheels OR bought a TPMS for your aftermarket spare

They assured me the spare did NOT have a sensor so they put in the one I ordered. And now they are saying it is maybe a Sasquatch thing… it would need to be re-learned every rotation. He said it takes about 20 minutes to do and eventually they’ll start charging a half-hour of labor additional for 5-tire rotations on a Sasquatch… because of having to relearn each time… and “the manual shouldn’t suggest that for a Sasquatch but Ford isn’t going to update the manual with an asterisk for Sasquatch!”

wow! He even brought a “Jeep owner” who works service there to also advise/suggest against a 5-tire rotation as well on 35s but under 35s it’s not a big deal.

My head hurts. The “we at service know more than the guys on the forums” line was the icing on the cake.

"Great, I know who NOT to take my vehicle to for service and spend my money." Would have been my response as I laid boot rubber getting out the door.

No need to darken their doors with your shadow ever again.

Requesting 5-tire rotation. Service guy is pushing back saying “nobody does that.” Spare didn’t have TPS so I ordered one. They want to charge a full hour to reprogram the sensors with each rotation. Also got some story with enough uneven tread wear with that 5th tire being rotated in every 5,000 miles that it is gonna create unnecessary wear on the transfer case and other stuff. Is it this much of a headache with those of you doing 5-tire rotations? Is Ford Service giving you grief or are you getting them done elsewhere? They are making it sound like it is never done ESPECIALLY on new Broncos. I was under the impression it was a fairly common thing.
My Ford service was confused when I asked, until they found an older service manager who essentially said, "it's been so long since Ford has needed to that it's been forgotten." And I definitely had 5 TPMS from factory.

As a service advisor who has worked at various dealers and manufacturers, virtually no one does a 5 tire rotation as 99% of vehicles out there do not come with a full size spare. Hell, some do not even come with a spare at all.

With Ford, this is the first vehicle that is out in decades where a 5 tire rotation could even be considered. Its just not the norm and its not part of the regular service.

Also, believe me when I tell you, service advisors do not memorize every little aspect of every car out there nor has there been a bulletin from Ford, a meeting from management, or even a post-it put up to include a 5 tire rotation with these vehicle.

Just walk in and ask if they can perform the 5 tire rotation. A good service advisor should not push back on this request.

These service people are giving me the creeps. They seem as clueless and useless as old socks, they are steeped in their ignorance.

They swindle you out of a TPMS and additional ½ hour labor? Eff that!

Find new service folks that are courteous, knowledgeable and resourceful to their customers.

I do the 5-tire rotation every oil change, at the dealer, about every 5k miles. They say no problem. Yes all Bronco tires have the TPMS, no programming.

If your dealer says otherwise then I'm guessing they are too lazy to do any work. Move on.

A wise man once told me "an arrogant man knows nothing". Sounds like a whole shop full of arrogant men.
