I’m very cautious about hauling anything to heavy or metal inside the vehicle. If you’re in an accident or rollover everything in the Bronco becomes a missile. I start there

If it's not strapped down or bolted down It should not be in a 4x4 for that very reason.

A code reader or a laptop with Forscan+ODB cable. If you’re rock crawling, slamming or even sometimes going through water a wheel sensor can get triggered and cause a bunch of codes to be thrown and Bronco may go into limp mode. Not a fun experience when lockers are no longer functioning.

sometimes a reset (remove battery cable for 10min) works. Didn’t for me. I needed to clear all codes to restore lockers. This was on the Rubicon last week. As a result… I now carry a code reader. Thx to the trail angel for getting me going again!

I'm wondering which tools should I plan to always carry with me on the Bronco to help me with mechanical problems while on the road.

For reference I've never in my life had to perform any repairs in the middle of the road or a trip, not even change a tire, maybe I've been lucky, maybe I just keep my vehicles well maintained.

But now my wife and I are planning to move into our Bronco and travel full time, so space is at a premium, and the Bronco is going to be already carrying a lot of weight. Any advice on which tools (other than the jack) I should plan on bringing with me? Thanks.

While on road? You don’t really need any. Really, just AAA to get you where you need to be. If you want to change your own flat, I’d bring an impact driver with a 19mm impact socket because that makes it much easier than dealing with the tool that comes with the Bronco. Beyond that, what kind of roadside problem can you expect to happen that 1) is something you can repair, 2) you have the parts for, 3) isn’t covered by warranty, 4) makes sense to even attempt to repair roadside?

I’m struggling to remember any issue that had me on the side of the road that wasn’t a flat tire. I think maybe it was a fuel pump 20 years ago on a vehicle with 100,000+ miles on it.

I fix 90% of things with a Knipex Plier Wrench, 11 in 1 screwdriver and a hammer.

Also, two Dewalt boxes will fit very snugly side-by-side in the back and these drawers are easily accessible for one side, but the swing gate latch side needs to be a top loading box and it's very tight when opening... you may scratch that endangered species of plastic everyone is so worried about.

*double check the measurements because they like to "update" their toolbox systems.

It's hard to match a tool kit to an unknown, you know... But... And while the Ford bronco roll up tool kit isn't perfect, but it's got almost everything you'd ever require.
Save for a wrench to turn an inter tie rod.

It's as compact as a full size took kit can be, but it rolls up and straps on somewhere.

I believe that dv8 expanded trunk bin will contain it.
