Hey guys, was interested if anyone had purchased a Wagner tuning factory location intercooler for their Raptor. I’m curious if it installs like the Cobb / Cpe as a direct replacement and can keep the shutters. Was also contemplating going with the CPE. Looking to keep it as simple and close to stock as possible and want to retain the stock shutters. Let me know, Wagner or CPE, thanks!

They're all the same core size with the only difference being the end tank design and all of them bolt up to the stock intake piping. So really any of them will work with the stock front shutters. the zip tie method works just fine for retaining the rear passive shutters.

But yes, it'll basically slide right in. I have the CPE. They also have 15% off right now. When you remove the OEM IC, the rear shutters come with it and you'll transfer those over. I drilled a hole in a few spots on the rear passive shutters to slip a zip tie through to make it 100% secure.

I sent Wagner some tech questions and got no response so my money went elsewhere. I'm sure it'.s a fine IC. I do like the CPE end tank design.

I appreciate it, due to the lack of info and response, I’m probably gonna snag the Cpe. I’ve had it in my car since 7/4 lol

I am an official distributor for Wagner Tuning. I will be posting a video in the next few weeks on how to install their intercooler and some performance gain numbers

I’ve been looking at BRaptor Intercoolers, and first assumed all similar… maybe whipple top choice. Was looking at Coob, Whipple, and CPe as main options.

I communicated with Goose Tune on a few items, including an IC. He recommended the Wagner as good option but cautioned it required more work and bumper removal compared to Coob and others.

Looking into the Wagner, it’s quite larger than OEM and Competition… 69% more volume. 11 vs 6.5 Liters. It’s not all about volume and their build and internal technology apparently works better in cooling and dissipating hot soak more efficiently & quicker.

Oddly it’s also nicely priced… on Wagner site it’s $690.

Most Wagner IC’s are Tube & Fin, but I believe the BRaptor is Bar & Plate. Haven’t found direct spec, but lower price suggests Bar & Plate.

@ARC77 could you comment on which IC design the BRaptor IC. Addition comments on IC would be welcome too. It’s a hard one to get much on in reviews or YouTube.

I will have more of the Raptor intercoolers ( currently en route ) will uplaod some good close up photos of the internals. With a snake camera as well. Wagner has been established in the European scene with Audi/VW and Porsche’s. I shall update soon

Correct, Warner’s a German company and has made very nice IC’s for Porsche, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc. Pretty much all of those are Tube & Fin.

If you could, verify what the BRaptor IC is… I’m guessing Bar & Plate.
