My wife took our Wildtrack in for 10000 mile service yesterday and tire rotation. Apparently tire guy got a little wild with impact and scratched up at least 3 of the wheels.

I just called and left service dept a message but am wondering what to expect?

I would expect denial and excuses. They should be using a socket w/ plastic sleeve to avoid such problems. I'd be pushing for a paint fix at the very least.

I understand all that but if I did it myself it would be my fault and I would cuss myself.

Can they be repaired worth a crap?

Sure they can be repaired but probably wouldn't be cheap. Could always just hit 'em with some touch up paint.

Most dealers video the car from all angles upon entering the service area....

This is a case of deciding what battles to fight and the aggravation associated with it. Obvious the damage was caused by the socket. Service advisor will likely deny responsibility. In which case, you'll escalate it to the department supervisor. If they capitulate, they'll take a half a day to clean and apply touch-up paint. At which point, you'll be satisfied or not depending on how noticeable the brush strokes. You'll raise hell, but they aren't going to dismount the tires, sandblast, and repaint the wheels.

All that aggravation when you can achieve the same result of touching up the scratches yourself.

IMO, it isn't worth the aggravation. Clean up the scratched area and apply touch up paint. Then man-up and do your own tire rotations in the future.

That little bit - a tiny dab of gloss black touch up and done.

Maybe worth mentioning to the dealer to see if they will give you a coupon for $5 off an oil change or something, but I wouldn't expect new rims or for them to strip and powdercoat them or anything.

It's not like you keep them pristine anyways. So you'll never see the difference.
I was gonna mention that too but decided not to pile shame on top of misery. But I'm glad someone said it.

Go off roading. Six foot pinstripes down the side will take the emphasis off the wheels, ask me how I know.

Kinda a rough crowd today but I got the answers I expected. Just pissed me off when I saw the damage. Only new vehicle I have bought and I already have door scratches but they were my fault. I didn't have to pay someone else to do those. Still waiting for a reply from dealer.

I had this happen on another vehicle years ago. Dealer denied it 100%.
Now I take photos of all wheels with dates prior to any tire rotations. I also show the service advisor the photos and say I will inspect before leaving the service department.
Never had any issue after that. Unfortunately you have to expect poor work and CYA.
