so i should inspect mine before it gets installed is what your saying lol
Yes. The way the clamshell is crated is a joke. I'm pretty sure the first one they sent my dealership was scraped up when the service tech uncrated it. The clamshell isn't wrapped in anything. It appeared to have been slid over to the side and then rubbed up against the rough wooden slats. Back it went. The mid panel, which I didn't get a chance to inspect, has waviness on the sides.

Yes! I will be doing just that when I take mine in.

Well it's turning into a fiasco. Dropped the Bronco off Monday morning to have the 3rd top installed and they called this morning to tell me they had some issues. They had the glass company remove the rear glass and install it on the new top then they installed the headliner. When they went to put it on it would not line up. It seems all the holes and locator pins were not lining up correctly. I really do not see how that could be since they sit in jigs for this type of thing , plus it would not have been sitting correctly in anything that holds it in place to move around the facility after the fact . I'll have to leave it there and keep the loner for awhile.
This is why the dealer wants my Bronco for 3-4 days. Because the windows have to come out of the old top while it's sitting on the Bronco. And the new windows have to be put in with the new top installed. So how they'll do the headliner is up for grabs....

@J-Lugster is spot-on correct; a veritable shite show.

Where's the Ford_Motor_Company folks? Oh, right, they left the forum. And they were never really here to help anyway....

Pic of somebody else's clamshell. This is how they're all crated. A little rough handling or swipe across the wood and there it goes.

I was told they flip the top upside down while it is off the vehicle and glue the headliner material on.

That's not how "they're all crated". Here's pics I took of a crated hardtop at my local dealership.

How do you know that is a replacement MIC top clamshell? That looks to me like a full top that somebody ordered for a 2-door Bronco. Both my replacement clamshells came in the shoddy crate. The dealership also replaced my mid panel and front panels under warranty at the same time, and those came separately.

I have seen that when people order a full MIC top for their soft top Bronco and pay $5,000 for it, the top comes in an enclosed crate.

The warranty replacement tops do not come with glass or headliner. Those have to be ordered and installed in them.

Because I took those photos in January 2022 which was LONG before they were available to order.

Also, if you look at the Ford part number its the rear cap for a 2-door.

Well that number is discontinued. They are not shipping replacement clamshells that way.

I love my Bronco and my only concern is the MIC. I plan to keep my Bronco for several decades. It will be out of warranty in June 2025 and I have zero confidence the MIC will hold up. I like the Anderson hard top but they have no plans to make one for a 2 door. It is obvious that FORD has NOT fixed the MIC issue. We have all read the numerous reports of replacement tops looking like crap or also failing. FORD SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE TOP FOR LIFETIME OF OWNERSHIP FOR ORIGINAL PURCHASERS. If they do not fix this and stand by current owners....I am sure there will be a class action suit. But, results would probably be; lawyers get millions and we get a $100.00 voucher on the Ford web site.
Curious why just "original owners" when people buying Broncos now will have the same issues...

Doesn’t matter. Ford isn’t going to give a lifetime warranty on it regardless of owner

Mine is cracking on the rear left along the joint where it meets the body. 1800 miles. I also noticed that same side rear fender flare appears to have developed a sharp ridge or bend in the middle of it, perpendicular to the body of the truck. Paint hasn't cracked yet but the colder the weather, it appears the larger the ridge is getting. I guess neither of these items will be an issue for me as the truck will see some extensive off roading and I don't suspect those flares will look good for long. As for the roof, as long as it doesn't leak, I'm ok with that. All that said, that's some shitty QC for a $97K MSRP rig.

My 23’ BD is cracking in the exact same spots. Around the rear glass hinges and in between them. Just had the dealer look at it and they are sending the info over to Ford. We’ll see how it goes.
