It’s far enough over the ball if you raise the leg it will slide on the ball and you can latch it….

IMHO, buy an adjustable. It's more money but worth it due the versatility.

Same thing happens to me. I usually just put the hitch in an inch or two, attach the trailer to the ball, then move the whole thing forward to line up the pin. Kind of awkward…

I couldn’t take the struggle any longer, this solved the problem for me.

Just like she said, lower the tongue, it will slide right in.

Another SAS hitch / ball hack is just open the tailgate door. Drop it on and close the door.

I have a 1” drop and a 3” drop….i think the 2” drop will make my trailer level.

I ended up doing the turn offroad adjustable tire carrier and moved the spare up. (It allows for up and down and in and out adjustability)Even with a 37” back there I squeeze the trailer on.

Just say NO to this option. Too much leverage on the hitch. A little more drop is all the OP needs though looks like it will drop on the way it is.

I had the same issue...
I pulled the locking Pin from the Hitch and locked that to the Trailer then pushed the hitch (and trailer) into the receiver. That convinced me that I needed 'Just a scooch' more drop.

That thing with the handle that puts down or takes up the kickstand (don’t know what it’s actually called…) prevents this approach.
