I’m considering getting an EcoFlow DELTA series power station along with their 800W alternator charger, and I had a couple of questions I was hoping someone here could help with.

Right now, I have a Victron IP67 battery charger installed on my Bronco. When it’s parked in the garage at night, I plug it in to keep the battery topped off. I do this for a few reasons, but the main one is that I run a Wolfbox G900 dash cam and use timelapse mode while the vehicle is parked at work during the day. My commute isn’t always long enough to make up for that constant draw, so I plug in at night to avoid any battery issues. That part’s a bit of background, but it explains why I’m paying attention to battery maintenance.

One of the reasons I’m looking at the EcoFlow setup is the alternator charger’s ability to work in reverse and charge the vehicle battery from the power station. It seems like that could be really useful in situations where I can’t plug in overnight, or even just as a backup way to help keep the battery topped off.

For those of you who actually use this reverse-charging feature, how useful has it been in real-world use? When do you typically find yourself using it? Thanks!

If it's anything like my DC-DC controller, it won't pass a charge to the Bronco battery unless you're connected to solar thru the controller AND your lithium battery is topped up and finished charging...
Hope this helps

From what I can tell, there's a setting in the EcoFlow app where you can configure the direction of charge between the vehicle and the power station. I assume I would need to manually switch between the modes depending on the situation.

Interesting...
Do they make a smaller version? Maybe a 400 watt? 800W would beike a 60A draw on your alternator. I wouldn't wanna put an additional load on it that big, but that's me...

I believe they make a 500W version, but I don't think that version includes the reverse charge feature (I could be mistaken on that, though).
