Same.

@TruckCamper , epic build. You should definitely post up a full build thread. Looks like a modular aluminum framing system?

Oh I see.....You are all in on your build. Very nice setup indeed. The BRaptor is a bad bad beast. YOu use it for what it was meant for, you will always be happy.

As for exhaust, it does sound good. My Badlands with Magnaflow pro street sounds good. Now do they sound like my 68 351w ?? Or My GT500 ?? Of course not! But neither does any other v6 vehicle. That does not imply it cannot sound good.

@TruckCamper siiiick build indeed!! But, I think I spy an area of approximately 3 square inches where you can shoehorn in some added gear - LOL (may I guess you are an engineer by trade?)

And you can add me to the I have never seen MPG above 13 club…

It's bulk aluminum tubing. Just cut to length and linked with plastic connectors. Basically like an electoral set

With such a small rig it takes plenty of thought and testing to make everything work. But rather neat it can work... especially 2 eMTB bikes on 29s.

13mpg is terrible. Tire choice, wind drag or driving style?

Our first tank completely stock was 18.7mpg. Our lifetime average is just over 14mpg with ~ 10k miles towing. Towing seems to average about 12mpg with range being 10-14mpg keeping speed below 65mph.

Ecoboost does a fantastic job. Around town keep rolling as possible getting a 6-7k lb started takes plenty of juice. Hold throttle steady when at speed (biggest factor). Anytime you can get to speed quickly (like on ramps) floor it. Wind drag kills economy especially over 65. These motors are excellent for fun and great economy.

👍

Those plastic joints must cinch down with some fasteners for strength and rigidity?

I certainly know I could drive for and get better mpg, but the juice just isn't worth the squeeze for me. My surprise isn't that you get better mpg, but rather just how much better.

I got 21 mph from Bishop Ca to Sparks Nevada...my overall 3 day trip in the high sierra was an average of 18.5 mph consisting of two 10K passes with backwoods rds...im very pleased to say the least!

Can add me to the 13.X mpg club for the most part. Freeway speeds out here (75 to 85 mph often) really do a number on your mileage though.

I have run a few tanks on road trips on more state routes and rural driving where I was seldom over 65 to 70 mph. Definitely see the potential to get 17+ mpg then. I assume my Trailrax does not help my cause either...

These cars are horrible for high speed efficiency due to aerodynamics or lack thereof... Too bad since they are crazy stable high speed cruisers for what they are.

Absolutely, bad (high) frontal area and bad drag coefficient (shape). Not sure what production rig might be worse 😆.

I don’t know why, but I’m getting around 17.9 -18.1 mpg. That’s starting with a 950 mile run to Florida and. driving in town for a couple weeks. My daily driver. I don’t drive crazy, but I don’t baby it either.

That is what makes the Raptor awesome! Fuel economy + power on tap. Retaining good rolling tires is key for mpg...

Our little trailer sits in the slip stream. Over 16mpg on this 200mi trip. Our double axle trailer not so much. Haha
