Been out test driving raptors today. One thing is noticed is this thing is LOUD when you get on it. Exhaust mode was set to quiet or normal, but it still had a pretty good growl under acceleration. Am I hearing the real exhaust or is this the "piped in" sounds thru the subwoofer?

Has anyone disabled the fake engine sounds using forscan?

Is the cross brace bar in the back prone to rattling?

Test driving was great, just trying to clarify some concerns. The raptor moves!!! Handles well, and drives comfortably.

Thanks

No exhaust sound piped thru speakers on Raptors. My brace does not rattle, don’t remember seeing anybody mentioning about it rattling on this forum.

Try out Baja Mode exhaust. I believe it's only legal off road in many states. It definitely cranks up the loudness.

I definitely have had creaking and loosening fasteners on my rear composite X-brace. I've contributed comments to that topic here on this forum.

The Raptor is extremely livable with as a daily.

No creaks here but only 20K miles. Exhaust is loud enough that I don't want an aftermarket system. It's even better with the top off, especially in Baja mode (laws be damned).

I second pretty much everything said so far in this thread. The exhaust notes in the different modes are really nice, especially with the top off. I will say the front passenger and driver seats the plastic trim above your head on the left and the right, the screws on both sides were extremely loose when I bought the vehicle. that was all of the screws that hold that trim in place I’m not sure why. Something to check.

We named our Raptor "Dino". My wife calls it "her" angry dinosaur. We have the MRT H Pipe muffler. Put it on for increased ground clearance (and saved some weight). It basically is like being in Baja Mode all the time. Not terrible for cruising but not quiet otherwise. It can be a bit annoying while towing on long climbs at higher RPM.

Raptor is a completely different beast to the Bronco. It is an extremely good "value" for what you get. We have ripped ours apart and observed all the differences compared to our 2dr.

Just got back from 12 consecutive days rock crawling 6hrs everyday through the Sierra Nevadas and camping out the Raptor. Not many rigs can handle that in comfort and drive 600 miles out and back. Plus the fuel economy is excellent.

There's a great video where a special vehicles engineer goes over all the chassis (and other) changes made to the Raptor vs. the regular Bronco. If anyone has a link to the video I'm referring to, post it up, otherwise I'll try to search for it when I have more time. The amount of additional engineering that went into the Raptor was surprising. I

Love the stock exhaust. All modes. No rattling. 13K miles.

I added the cross brace to my Wildtrak, and it does creak and I have had to retighten it at least once. Fine silt dirt can create some noise when it gets way down into any seams like that.

Stock exhaust still sounds like a tiny v6

There’s no way the “off road” exhaust can be so loud it’s illegal

My hellcat shakes my garage it’s so loud. Easily double the volume of baha bronco. Yet it’s legal everywhere

The Bronco exhaust is fine as is. I wouldn’t call any of the modes loud. All modes sound very v6 imo . Your not going to impress anyone with that exhaust note besides Hondas

My Raptor button for 90% of my driving is setup for Sport Mode, with Baja Exhaust - although it feels like since the ProCal tune that Baja isn't as loud as before (but I could be wrong)

This made me laugh since my neighbor loves the sound of the exhaust with baja mode on.

He owns a tuned S2000 ;).

I come from the perspective of owning a gt500 and a challenger hellcat. To hear you guys talking how loud or cool a 3 liter tiny v6 exhaust sounds is funny. It’s fine. But it’s not anything super.

It’s like saying my minivan sounds louder than your minivan :).

3.0 baha mode . Ying ying rat tat tat
Gt500. Varooommm burble burble burble

The broncos not meant to be a muscle car. Its sound is fine for what it is. Could be better. Could have a 5.0 and try to compete with the 392 jeep. But ford chooses not to compete
