I'm sure there is a thread somewhere, but I have a hard top and I am buying a soft top. I wanted to see if anyone has a link to a video on how to install a factory soft top, and or suggestions of what not to do. Thanks in advance:please:.

It’s two brackets on the roll cage towards the front/mid section and if you remove the two side plastic pieces in the cargo area there will be 2 more brackets to install. There are 3 bolts on each side in the rear that hold the soft top in place. When I say plastic in the cargo area, I don’t mean the entire thing like you have to to remove the seat belts or to replace the sub. These are much easier to remove to install. I would add pictures of what I’m talking about but I’m not near my bronco and don’t have any on my phone. It’s very easy. The soft top weighs just over 100lbs, so having a second person will help you out tremendously. I can show pictures of what I’m talking about tomorrow, or I’m sure someone else has some that will beat me to it

Thanks and send the pics when you get a chance pls. It is a new soft top on a pallet. So I'm not sure what parts come with it or how do I know if there is anything missing.
Appreciate the help.

Should just be the 4 brackets I believe but I could be wrong. I just removed my factory soft top and installed a aftermarket one, and those 2 on the roll cage are the only two I had to remove and the rears stayed where they were installed at the factory. I will post pictures tomorrow afternoon or can DM them to you, whichever you prefer

Ford Bronco Soft top install instructions? IMG_5539
Deninitly get a plastic roll bar protector, and 2 people. It's heavy and awkward. 2 alignment pins in the pic above on the left and right line things up. And you screw in the 3 screws. Don't screw them in all the way. Close the top (very tight). Latch the front then tighten the screws.
Also make sure you receivd the 2 plastic b-pillar inserts before starting. Held on by the 3 screws in the piller.

I also got the iag ezlift, much easier to close with 1 person.
I did this 2 weeks ago, so let me know if you have any questions.

The question comes down to did you buy someone else's soft top that came with Dual Tops? If so, you will be missing pieces. I just went through this. It'll cost another $250 in parts and one of them you'll need to get third party off Mountains2Metal because Ford has a weird pricing issue going on.

Parts list from @flip

2- M2DZ-7829452-A Top frame brackets
10- W707288-S442 Top frame bracket and frame bolts (May only need 4 if the soft top is on the original pallet with 6 bolts already)
1- M2DZ-78515A52-B Roll bar top bracket
1- M2DZ-78515A53-B Roll bar top bracket
4- W721070-S450B Top bracket bolts
1- M2DZ-78255A34-BA Side window C pillar trim These SHOULD be on the pallet
1- M2DZ-78255A35-BA Side window C pillar trim These SHOULD be on the pallet
2- M2DZ-78515A54-B Rear hatch latch brackets Order these instead (https://mountains2metal.com/tailgate-window-catch-set/)
2- W718804-S450B Rear hatch latch bracket bolts

Source ... I just did this 3 weeks ago.

All the above parts come pre-installed on the Bronco that ordered Dual Tops.

Bought a soft top a month or so back. Didn't know about all the brackets, seller hasn't been very communicative when I offered another $100 for them so I just ordered this morning. Here is everything you need:

For the rear window brackets, they are really high for some reason, $450! A few weeks ago they were $1000!!! Guessing there's some sort of shortage. Anyway, I just ordered the mountains to metal that I included the link to.

Thanks, and yes this came from a bronco that ordered dual tops. I was not tracking I need all these extra parts. Did you follow a video to put this together or figured it out on your own?
Also how long did it take to get the parts from ford and mountains to metal?
Thanks

As a correction, you SHOULD NOT need to buy 1- M2DZ-78255A34-BA Side window C pillar trim1- M2DZ-78255A35-BA Side window C pillar trim. They should be on the pallet it came on in a box.

If the person you bought it from did not remove those parts before selling you the top, you could always see if they would be willing. That would be the easiest route. All the parts mentioned are not needed for the hard top. The person I bought mine from ghosted me when I asked about it. They said they'd get back to me but I could tell in their voice they were not keen on the idea ...

As for order and delivery, I used https://www.ruxerparts.com/. It took about a week and a half, only because one of the parts was out of stock and they had to custom order it. But they are REAL good at getting things out the door. Mountains2MEtal took like 2-3 days if I remember correctly.

As for the install, it was super annoying. There aren't any real videos out there on installing the OEM soft top from scratch, but it is straight forward if you just look at pictures from the people's posts mentioned above. Basically ...

You pop off the plastic covers in the trunk.

Install the brackets ( 2- M2DZ-7829452-A ) with 2 W707288-S442 bolts for each bracket.

Install the rollbar brackets

install the window catch brackets

install the window c pillar trim

install the soft top. Note ... it'll need to be stretched pretty good for the first time use to properly attach to the rollbar bracket and the front bracket. After a cople of days of being stretched, it's a lot easier to open/close and latch and what not.

Side Window Channels should be in a box on the pallet. Those do not come pre-installed for some reason .... Also, you don't need the trim panel covers if you want to save $100.00. You'll just be able to see the brackets without them on. OR you could cut the ones you have for your hard top.

Also, when you go to install ... You should make a video. I think you'd be a savior for all the people buying the used ones since all the videos online are about installing a soft top with the soft top brackets already in place.
