Good evening everyone. I did the first oil change on my 2023 Bronco Wildtrak today. I went ahead and installed a Ronin drain plug. When installing it, I turned until I felt it seat but when looking at it, it shows a gap between the plug and the oil pan. Is this normal?

That is the spring that keeps it in place. You need the space in order to be able to remove it. You push in the compress the spring and rotate.

Exactly what it's supposed to look like. I've done 2 oil changes with the Ronin on MY24 and haven't spilled a drop of oil in my garage or on me. Well worth the money.

In that gap you are questioning; what is that thin grey piece...it looks like an O ring not seated or bent? Do you have a part # for that specific Ronin? Thanks!
EDIT: Maybe that is the compression spring I am seeing.
