Milbums, after a couple more months of use, any feedback on off-road performance? Am curious of any noticeable differences or pros/cons vs Fox or Kings.
Looks great and am also trying to get improved travel on my 2dr.
Anything else you had to do to support your 37s or feel you need now after using your Rides? Thanks so much.
Prior to Ride, I had Eibach coilovers and before that stock Sasquatch suspension. I really can’t compare to Fox or Icon for the Bronco. I can say they are great off-road so far, mostly rocks and technical stuff, handled everything perfectly. Where I noticed the most improvement is with the rebound dampening, eliminated the harshness I was experiencing with the Eibachs.
I am heading to Baja in a couple weeks and can give better insight on the higher speed stuff after that.
I updated to the severe steering rack, changed UCAs and did the JKS max clearance kit.
One of the main reasons I went with Ride was I wanted to run 37s and they were built around this.
The only negative I can think of is the adjustment clicks are difficult to distinguish when clicking in. I found adjusting out is much better, so I just crank them in and count from there. It’s kind of a pain going all in with each adjustment but nothing too bad.

Thanks @milbums. Would look forward to hearing any more feedback after Baja (jealous).
Sounds like you haven’t felt that Rides have required introducing a diff drop and the only thing needed in going to 37s was the prerequisite upgrades to UCAs
Did that mean you got maybe ~2” in lift?
100% agree from my reading that there’s likely overkill on setting adjustments but if the initial issues that some had on the valving has been solved and I can move to 37s with good articulation and only UCAs, it sounds like Rides are a strong consideration for 2.5 coilovers. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

AccuTune offroad is very good about data sharing and they have great technical publications on their website. The readily provided spring characteristics and shock lengths that have known reference datum’s. I was also wondering if they have damping curves available from their shocks? Couldn’t easily find that.

One day I’ll do a write-up/video on the difference between Ride/King and maybe some other brands. Just need to find a set of Ride shocks around me installed on someone’s Bronco that’s fairly similar in build to the other vehicle being reviewed.

Update!

We’ve come a long way over the year and we’ve been taking customer feedback very seriously. With our first run of Bronco coilovers, we had a few customers feel as though they were too stiff. This was heard loud and clear and has been addressed by our Engineers.

When we launched the first versions, we went with a firmer setup based on feedback from early off-road testing and high-speed performance goals. But as more of you got them out on the trail (and street), we realized that not everyone was looking for that same level of stiffness.

That’s why, starting last year, we began shipping a softer, more compliant tune that still delivers off-road performance but with improved comfort for daily driving and moderate trail use.

At the end of the day, our mission is simple: give you the ride you’re looking for. Whether you want it plush for cruising or firmer for more aggressive terrain, we’re happy to help. If you’ve got a set of our shocks and want them revalved to better match your driving style — just reach out. We’ve got you.

Thanks for riding with us and helping us make Ride Shocks even better.

I’ll be bringing mine down on Monday for a revalve. Can’t wait to get it done!

So I just drove 100 miles from Chula Vista after having them revalved and they feel so much better. I had them set completely open. Hopefully I’ll be able to get them off-road soon to see how they perform.

Did you revalve to the original, stiff tune or the newer, softer tune?

I went from the original stiff tune to the softer tune. HD springs in the rear, regular up front. They still feel stiffer than the eibachs, but in a more responsive way, not an uncomfortable way (they were borderline undrivable off-road with the stiff tune. Or maybe I just suck at driving 😂)

Well we both suck at driving then because I felt the same way. I still somehow have not managed to go offroad yet but after a while on road I feel like they have gotten a little softer. I don't know if that's even possible or just my imagination but they feel pretty plush now.

I have had mine on full soft for quite some time and about a month ago I put them on 6 and ride was way more sporty. Yesterday I put it back to full soft, way better for the roads I drive on. In a perfect world it would of been nice to have them on 6 for street driving and for high speed off road bump up to 12 or real slow off road on 1.

Just had my Ride Shock, coil over, level 3 kit installed on 2D 2023 Badlands Sasquatch at a shop. Level 3 included a bunch of ICON arms in rear. Went with lightest weight range coils. Front was raised 2.5” and rear 1” so now I’m level at 41” ground to center of fender flair. Still on factory 35” until I mod enough to get to 37s.

At softest shock setting, ride is more controlled than factory, not super plush but civilized both on and off road - more of a tight sport feel like a BMW sports car vs Cadillac comfort. I felt connected to road/ground through steering and ride sensations but not in an annoying way. I was able to hit Arizona trails much quicker than on old shocks and felt more in control. Shocks took some hits while traveling quickly and kept me tracking straight. Curious how this will do crawling in Moab which is on calendar by October.

This ride is different than what I expected … I was thinking ride would be more of a marshmallow cushy but maybe that is not what is possible with still being able to control vehicle offroad, especially at 30+ mph on washed out desert trails.

This is my first shock swap and only thing I can compare to is a 2021 Ranger Tremor I owned with factory Fox Shocks. Different vehicle and different ride … as I remember it was more cushy but I wasn’t off-roading with it either.

Pics of your 2 door Sas or it didn’t happen. 😊

By the way would you be able to upload your alignment chart. Wanna compare with my Sasquatch 2 door. I’ve got Bilstein 6112. Kinda wish washy if I like them. I noticed they feel like I am one marbles and the steering input feels very different and light. I have to keep both hands on steering wheel even when going slow. I think I need more weight on the front end by lowering it one clip and the alignment needs rechecked cus looks like my tires have a bit of positive camber too much. You can pm me the chart if that’s cool.

the 6100 bills are digressive. Steep loading force slope for small shock velocities. After a while you will be able to tell if a quarter is heads or tails after you run over it.
