I’ve never been in a situation where I needed the one pair I’ve got. 😂 Bronco no get stuck.

I have four MaxTrax but have only used two for an off-road recovery. If you watch some YouTube content there are times where people stack them for to use as a bridge.

Never needed them in my life. Nor would I waste my money on them

Recovered a Jeep stuck in soft sand out near Death Valley one time. They worked well to get moving again, but didn't need to use a second set that was available in another vehicle.

I recently got my '96 Land Cruiser buried beyond axle deep in a snowbank. Even with locking axles and selective use of the go pedal, I could only dig myself in deeper. Using my two MaxTrax boards under the front wheels allowed me to creep forward enough to reach pavement. They are one of the items you hope you never have to use but are grateful for when you actually need them.

I guess you’ve never heard of the Everglades
and I prefer a winch.
Different tools, for different scenarios. Winches are great when with another vehicle or something like large trees to attach the winch to or use as an anchor.

You can't winch yourself out of deep sand in the desert. There is nothing to attach your winch to. Sometimes a shovel and traction boards are the only thing that will work. Being above the tree line here in the Rockies will provide the same challenges when doing a self recovery.

They are most definitely not a waste of money.

I've never been in a situation where I needed them, and I've been in some super deep snow. Not a match for the Bronco!

Really??
I’ve buried my spare more than once to winch from. So you can winch yourself out of sand. thanks for your input
even if it’s not correct

Well duh! But if you’re wheelin’ alone without a winch, they can save you from a lot of digging.
