Rear wiper motor source

Howdy, My wife has a 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend and the rear wiper stopped working. If you open the glass on the rear hatch, I can see the motor working, however no wiper. She took it to the dealership and they want $860 to replace the motor - they claim it's binding. But I can't even move the rear wiper manually when the rear hatch glass is open - won't budge. My question is two fold. If I indeed need a new motor, I haven't been able to find one aftermarket - does anyone have a source? $860 for a small motor is NUTS. Also, Is there a trick to get the rear wiper to move manually when the glass is open to see if that's the issue?

If you can see the motor working, then it’s not the motor. You have a seized wiper arm. I would search YouTube for Bronco rear wiper arm removal for a video showing this, so you can remove, clean and lube the arm where it attaches. Unless the arm is cracked, you may be able to repair this with no parts needed.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Just wanted another opinion - thanks!

The arm goes directly on the shaft ,I don`t understand what you are saying about the motor working. Either it works and the shaft (and arm) move or it doesn`t. If it doesn`t you need a motor .

The retail price of the motor is about 185 dollars

That's not the setup this vehicle has on it. See the pics. The round gizmo is what the motors turns, it goes into the arm assy somehow and moves the wiper. The motor is turning just fine, wiper ain't moving at all.

I apologize for that, it's my wife's vehicle and I'll admit I'm not familiar with all the variations. I drive a '76 F-100 flatbed which I'm replacing a brake line on at the same time I'm messing with this. I'll correct the title of this.

Not originally, he added that later. This problem is mentioned on the Sport forums. Sometimes removing the arm, cleaning and lubing it will resolve the problem.
