Wrangler JL also has no auto wiper option, I was told its because its an off-road vehicle and in the mud... You don't want your wipers to activate by themselves.
makes no sense. intermittent wipers are a setting.

you have that setting along with on/off and speed if on. if i was mudding you turn off/on or on-low speed as needed, not intermittent

It's not so much the turning on and off, but more so constantly having to adjust the speed while in traffic. I had an '01 M5 and '02 M3 which both had the feature and it was awesome! My current DD of 5+ years doesn't have it and I still miss it every time it rains.
I was literally wondering the other day if anyone else has the exact same combination of cars as me.

Apparently you do. 01 LMB E39 M5 + 2dr badlands sasquatch.

Thought that was weird and rare enough to comment.

Interesting. I might need to play around with this a little. If the setting is there, I wonder how deep that goes.

Automatic wipers is something I will miss when I trade in my MINI. It's pretty handy, just see rain and hit a button. Wiper speed is completely controlled by the system, no need to fiddle with intermittent/high/low/off/back on again/high/off/etc... Just push the button, and the wipers are managed by the computer.

Is it too difficult to just reach for the wiper button and turn them on when it's raining?
Actually it depends on the situation. I was off-roading when I got a bunch of mud and water blocking my view, and I had to move the hand out of the steering wheel to activate the wipers. It was no ok.

Same here, replaced my 2015 hardtop for my 22 outer banks. The auto feature was so nice.

Coming from a Cadilac XTS, there are lots of Luxury features I miss, but the strange ones I miss the most are ones that have been around for years...auto wipes and a momentary wipe. I may not have the name of that last one right, but for every car I have ever owned (all GMs mind you), you could twist the wiper knob towards you and it would send the wipers once or twice. Unless I am missing something that last one is not an option at all. Don't get me wrong, I love my 24 Wildtrak, and would go back to the big Caddy for anything, but it is just one of those things that I have used on cars for 30+ years.

You can literally do the same thing by just turning the wipers on then off real quick lol

Sure, you can. You can also tap the WASHER button too, but it is just funny how you get used to a seeming trivial feature. Here is Texas, we don't get a lot of storms, but misty/sprinkle showers it was nice to just wipe once every so often and have to deal with the gaps in intermittent settings.

I'm trying to find the SCCM module in Forscan on my 22 wildtrak with Lux and I don't see it - any idea as to why that is? I'm thinking maybe it's because I'm using a Bluetooth adapter - though this adapter is an expensive one that worked fine with my 2013 explorer. I have a USB OBDII adapter that I'll try when I get home today too though but figured I'd ask.
I'm actually trying to disable the rain sense feature as when the blades slow down n the return stroke, they chatter and skip like crazy. I've made multiple posts in multiple forums and so far the only thing I haven't tried yet has been disabling the auto wipe feature. It doesn't show up in my vehicle wipoer settings page either.

Broncos don’t have a rain sensing feature from the factory.

But yes I would agree that your adapter is likely the reason all the modules aren’t showing up.

It has the friction-sensing motor that "prevents damage to the motor in dry conditions" as Ford puts it. So it slows down the motor but isn't an "auto-rain-sensing" auto wipers feature. I'm trying to get it to stop slowing the blades down on the return stroke basically. The TSB regarding this has already been performed on my vehicle as well (23B35).
But cool, kinda glad it's likely just the adapter I'm using lol. Will have to try again when I get home with my USB one. Thanks!!

Oh, yeah those are 2 totally different things. You won’t be able to turn off the friction sensing part of it.

That programming is built into the wiper motor module itself. Nothing you change in the SCCM or any other module will remove that.

Gotcha... Someone said this in a facebook group, maybe they were talking out their ass then LOL. I certainly trust you more than anyone on facebook, as based on other comments I've seen from you, you very clearly know what you're talking about lol!

Thanks for the input... Hopefully I find a solution one of these days. The noreaster storm we just got yesterday had my butt puckering as I used my wipers and they chattered and skipped more than a happy kid at recess lol.

I guess you could always try it, but they’re likely talking out of their ass lol

If you look at the way the wiper recall was done to fix the over-sensitive sensing issue, Ford had to send us an actual programming box which we then basically connected directly inline to the wiper motor module because they are not programmable from the factory or by using the Ford factory programming tool (FDRS)
So the chances you can change or alter that programming is unlikely.
