I have a '22 Badlands Lux 7-spd Sasquatch. I've been "enjoying" intermittent window issues since day one. 2 (or ten) tries with the "reset" procedure has rectified the problem for two years - but it's happened to all windows dozens of times over that period.

Now passenger front window won't respond to the reset. So I've been driving with it partially down and whistling or further down and flopping all over likely damaging the door slides and guts. Super.

I just took it in to dealer this am and was told that at 40k miles, they will not roll this into warranty so it's on me...$200 just to look at it. Perfect.

Hey @Ford Motor Company - HOW ON EARTH DID THIS DESIGN MAKE IT TO MARKET!!!??? How is this not a recall issue?

since this issue has some history for you call Ford to see if they will help out as you are not that far out of warranty. Especially if you have taken the truck in for service over the years and this is a repeat issues that was never corrected. Any service history will help you out here

good luck

Yep, the windows are easily the worst part of my Bronco. I've had the same issues as you, but also my passenger window has opened by itself while the car was parked (twice) and last month one of my window motors blew out at 11k miles.

The windows module is by the driver's kick panel. Have you installed a start/stop disable module by the area? If so, remove it to eliminate this factor before attempting a repair.

My22 has had window issues since day one, also Seems more prominent in the winter months. Last year had the dealership look at passenger side and they told me they "realigned the window track" and it worked flawlessly for about 9 months but is acting up again. The reset usually works after one to three tries. my wife does 2 year leases of BMS's the last 3 had drop windows and not one had any issues (plenty of other issues but windows perfect) No idea how Ford F'ed this up, my headlights use to come on by themselves but DS replaced the switch and all is good.

Headlights and power windows, things that have been cars for decades, I don't get it

The Bronco is an amazing vehicle. Except for a small list of things Ford executed very poorly. They underestimated what customers would look past. Hopefully they improve these things that worked well in cars 50 years ago. Sadly it will come with even higher prices. Hope mine outlasts me.

I wonder if the fact that the reset is on the buttons themselves causes issues.
Meaning, sometimes I wonder if I am putting the windows down and without thinking just holding the button instead of removing my finger, which is basically communicating with the reset feature to start the process, but no follow through. I suspect that could come into play, and I know for sure, I'll be listening to music or talking or whatever and not pay attention to holding down the button.

My other thought with these windows, is that it's port of the trade off for frameless windows. A pretty big undertaking if you really think about what has to happen in a short amount of time, every time.

Did Ford look at it before or is this the first time you took it in for the window issue?

I suggest placing the windows in the full up position. Disconnect the battery for 20-30 minutes to allow all modules to completely reset. Then perform the window reset procedure after reconnecting the battery. Maybe this will resolve your issue.

All my window bouncing down issues have been fixed with a car wash - yes a car wash! I finally figured it out after my last trip to Mexico - there is a channel in the rubber right next to the glass that can get filled with crud. This causes the window to bounce off of the top most rolled up position. At least now, I can fix it with a finger / q-tip / stick quicker and cheaper!

How in the world did this design make it into a vehicle for offroad?

The thing that baffles me about all the problems with the Bronco's windows is the fact that Mustangs have had frameless windows for years with almost no problems.

I had not brought this in previously since I was able to chase it around and eventually reset it. It's DOA now so it needed to be seen. I def wish I brought it in prior so there would be a paper trail.

My 2Door’s windows are poor also. I’ve had it to a dealer twice. Last time they made it worse.

This all can be traced back to the boneheaded frameless design... done to enable some dufas who decides they want their doors off in the middle of the desert to execute that off-road. They even did that shit in one of the official Bronco promo videos with the lead designer and some other guy, where they took the doors off in the middle of the test course. There are so many wrong assumptions around this use case and the frequency with which it occurs.

My driver side windows flops and rattles after a year of ownership. Took it to the dealer, they acknowledged the issue but stated that Ford has given them no fix and directions to do nothing until Q4'24 when a fix is supposed to be released.
