2.7 has been pushing heavier Fords than the Bronco around since 2015. (F-150)
2.3 has also been in service since 2015 (Mustang)

So, they really have the same track record, and Ford has built a lot more 2.7s than 2.3s
Hold on the 2.3 has been around since the 80’s

Best option may be to find a ‘24 heritage 2d with v6…white top is the same top as the body colored ones and would be easy to repaint body color…don’t let anyone talk ya out of the v6 or 2dr…

I tell people not to get a Bronco unless it's a 2.7. Just as much torque as the coyote V8, BUT 2000 RPM LOWER!

Do you think that I could pay extra for a painted white heritage roof (mechanic shop parts) and then take it to a body shop to have it painted eruption green and put it on a 2024 Badlands?

I don't think the Heritage Mod Top is available via the parts counter. It is likely VIN restricted to only Heritage Broncos that need replacement parts.

I see. The dealership was making it sound like I could maybe order a 2025 green top if it was actually compatible with the 2024 through the parts. They noted it would cost a lot more that way though.

There is no reason why the tops aren't compatible from year to year. They bolt to the tub in the same manner. But the availability is another matter.

The MIC HT for the 4 dr became available to be ordered via invitation 3 years after launch. Many 4-dr owners opted for the soft top to get their Bronco sooner only to have to wait to get a HT.

The Mod Top will likely be restricted to specific VINs in the event there is warranty work or damage sustained that needs to be repaired. Ordinary retail customers would be unable to order it.

If you are wanting a green mod top, then you are either ordering a brand new Bronco with it from the factory or finding a Heritage on the lot and paying for the top to be painted green.

It will probably cost around $5000 to get top prepped and painted properly!!!

Strangely enough, I saw an Outer Banks tonight with a heritage top and Sasquatch rims rolling into Menard, TX tonight (probably on the way to San Angelo).

So apparently, it can happen.

That just means there is no issue with fitment as there shouldn't be. You don't know where that owner got the mod top.

I kind of kick myself as one of the first owners of a 2-dr HE here in Florida was selling their top. They were getting a soft top and had no space to store it. I passed on the deal as I felt it was a bit too rich ($4500 - plus I would have to get it painted body color). Now my MIC will be entering the Warranty Roulette.

Sort of. The eco-boost 2.3 has been around since 2015. It was developed from the 2.3 Mada engine that Ford shared with Mazda, but "developed from" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

Not sure I would want to spend $$$ painting a MIC top given all the photos of hairline cracks developing on a lot of roofs. The shop that paints the roof for you won't likely warranty their paint if you come back to them with typical MIC top cracks. IMO if you want a painted roof the factory painted MOD top > the 2.7L engine. The 2.3L is perfectly adequate and will last longer.
