So I installed the perimeter plus in my 2024 OBX Sasquatch yesterday with the following observations. I discovered that the LED light is extremely dim, forget about seeing it in daylight, barely visible at night, useless in daytime. The sensitivity of the alarm is not great for outside impacts, I actually thought is was defective. However when I tested it with windows down, reaching in to bump the dash and steering wheel, it is very sensitive. Light impact will trigger it. I am not sure if they changed the design/sensitivity but I don't believe I will have a issue with accidental triggers from loud exterior noises. I think its worth it for internal theft but not worth it for exterior impacts or door handle shaking. I used points so not much out of pocket expense for me. I don't think the LED is worth the $30 I paid for it. Install was easy other then me reinstalling it several times because I thought it was defective, from my outside tests.

There is a knob to adjust sensitivity. One time I forgot to bring my key fob. When I tried to open the door it started to give warning honks.

Yeah, I have it turned to the max, I should have posted that. It is very sensitive for the interior.

I also installed this recently and noticed the same as OP, a hard kick to the tires will make it chirp but a normal pull of the handle when locked doesn't chirp

With mine installed I'm happy with the sensitivity for where I have it adjusted. I believe that where you install the sensor unit has a lot to do with how sensitive it is. I tie wrapped the unit to a fairly rigid piece of structure above and behind the glove box.

It does get set off with nearby lightning strikes sometimes but otherwise I'm happy with it (there's some dance you can do with your key fob to temporarily disable the sensitivity). The last time my Bronco was in for service at my dealer, I got alerts that the alarm had gone off. Apparently once they finished working on my Bronco, they like to put it on display on some grassy area in front of the dealer. Likely a curious customer must of tried the door handle...

As for the LED, I mounted mine in the hero mode button cluster area as I don't have all of the buttons it being a non-sasquatch big bend. It was a little bit of a pain putting it there, but I can see the LED well both in the daytime and at night through my tinted windows okay.

One curious detail about the alarm operation - when the battery gets low it really stops working. I don't remember all of the details before I changed the battery but do remember it was virtually useless and the LED was doing its own unique dance.

Thats interesting about the LED, either my LED or main unit must be defective. Mine is also mounted to a steady point, very sensitive to any inside hit but not so much for outside.

It's pretty easy to ohm out an LED with a multi-meter. Probably a bit of a pain to get to the LED connector by the installed unit now that it's installed.

After locking my door, via door sensor or with Key FOB my alarm goes off on its own every so often. I'm not sure why, and the sensitivity has been turned down? Anyone else experiencing this or have a fix?

I used to get notifications in the Ford App when my alarm would go off, now not any more, any one else run into this issue and was able to fix?

Mine does not do that. And I have received notifications from the Ford app. When it goes off, sporadically. Hope this helps

Just make sure you watch the polarity of your meter. LEDs tend to want current to flow in only one direction. Get it backwards and your meter will show an open circuit when everthing is working properly.

Mine didn't come with light, had to order separately

I bought this one from ebay "Genuine OEM Ford Vehicle Security System - Optional Led Kit DM5Z19D596A" and it works fine, but it's no longer listed in the listing I bought from, but that's the part#

I had a tech look at mine and said it was functioning as intended. You cant see mine in daylight but can at night. If I had to do it over I wouldn't have gotten the LED.
