Blew at full droop, you need to either shorten your your shocks or a differential drop. Get out the welder because nothing off the shelf is going to help you.

Spicer units might handle the higher angle longer.

Yea, I have the RC diff drop but it's not much. Right now my lift is spacers over my bilsteins. going to switch it our with coilovers. Short shorten the droop a bit. I'll measure before and after to see how much.

If that doesn't seem like enough, I'll be putting on some limiting straps.

This was a popular shirt when I went to the Texas Toyota Jamboree in Gilmer a couple of years ago. I got real good at swapping out Toyota CV axles. I've not had to do that on my Bronco yet......

Just need to add “with your 5” lift” to the shirt.

I broke three M210's last season with only a mild lift (Fox 2.5 adjustable coilovers set as low as possible). I was also running a diff drop. Your big lift certainly is straining the system, but with hard wheeling the entire front end is the "weak link."

Ultimately my solution was to go with Dana UFDU and custom 32-spline RCV's. To be determined if this actually helps.

Man... I'm going to want an update on that. that's a lot of $$$. But if it works, will be worth it long term. I'm thinking of trying limiting straps next... I don't need too much flex, it's more clearance.

Were you locked in the front? I learned my lesson with front lockers by blowing up a CV shaft myself. Now I never use the front locker if there's going to be any kind of wheel spin. Found one of the CV balls in my ARB skid plate 2 years later

I wasn't even locked in front.... Same here, after the other two, i only use it when absolutely straight and slow. Doesn't matter what I do.. they grenade on me. I really don't want to lower my bronco....

I'd love to know if RCVs actually have a higher angle tolerance. When they announced the axles for the Bronco, I reached out to them and they really couldn't tell me.

People have been breaking them anyway. that's why I haven't made the jump yet.

In our wheeling group, once you strengthen the CV (such as RCV), we’ve had a few of us, myself included, lose the intermediate shaft . We are working with a company on a group buy to get a chromoly version of that as well. Definitely should do a diff drop with that much lift as someone above said.

I’m not certain how many level 8 trails we’ve taken our bronco on…three. Maybe four. Plus bonus features that humbled wranglers on 42’s….but no breaking of axles with this unit so far. Spicer axles though, not RCV.

@SierraBronco This is the way!!! That torque is nice and our 10 speed can handle the RPMs through the gears. Sport mode it tends to redline when giving it the beans, but such is life. (Ford procal installed)
