I see free covered parking at the beach!

"Naw I didn't see a fold up chair anywhere. Some bum must've swiped it".

Why not just use your bronco to its ability and drive up over the curb if you wanna deploy and sit in its shade drinking your little caramel macchiatos….you could easily do that since you can “plan better” as for me.. if I wasn’t in my bronco and needed to stay on pavement I’m reversing up to his chair and giving him the exhaust rev because I can “plan better” too

My dad always said about big dudes: “you gonna pick them up or knock them down?”
Even tho I’m 6’4 (with twin 6’7 older brothers), I’ve never once let big get in the way of a good time.
big has always been relative, but crazy, now that’s a bit different. And we are both..
mayhaps that’s just an Indian thing.

Just sayin', the guy parked like it was an uptown parking spot and then squeezed his big ass outta that van, denting my door. It ain't like he didn't know what was going on. I'm a big dude too (6' 3" and uh pack a spare tire) but I don't park like that unless I got no choice. It was an asshole move. Just sayin'!

The only thing I saw wrong with this was dude drove to the beach to do work, which ok, cool, but was SITTING IN THE DAMN PARKING LOT instead of out on the beach.

That’s like driving up to Starbucks, plopping down in a chair and then pulling out your own thermos and saying “it’s cool. I got my own”. Or driving out to Moab to only enjoy the view from hotel.

As far as the parking job or his fancy umbrella or whatever else - I got no comments on any of that at all. Nor do I really care he was displacing anyone else wanting to park because he parked his fold up chair there. Sure, a kinda dick move, but whatever.

Just why head out to the beach just to sit on asphalt is beyond my reckoning though.
Just my own take on the picture, and my own observations over the kinda guy that does this crap...

He went to that lot, deployed all of his awesome 'overlanding' gear early so he could show it off... these guys are like peacocks, always wanting to find an audience to ooohhh and ahhh over how much they spent on looking so incredibly awesome, living their 'best lives' on snapchat - and hey, check out my super special espresso machine too, I'm a real outdoorsman, just like my mommy used to tell me my daddy was like, before he left her after taking her in the men's room at the Rustler Steak House one night...

This reminds me of the sacker job I had at a grocery store in high school. There was this porn-stache'd lothario (think the uncle in Napoleon Dynamite) who cheated on his wife, a relatively good looking 40-something blonde lady, with this woman he worked with in the back. She was not so hot...

The kid was like five when I worked there and he'd come in with his mother, and if you were in back, he'd point at this picnic table next to the cardboard crusher and tell you how he was conceived on that table. Ol' dad man. What a guy! lol

Somebody mentioned someone parking sideways in a parking lot cuz 'spensive car. One time at this little eatery nearby a jackwad parked his crew cab doolie pickemup truck with the forty foot trailer in all the nearby parking spots, like no biggee. I show up, where I park in back (as I always do, complete with coyote urine spray to keep the varmits away) and go in.

As I'm sitting by the window, a dude drives up in a big Ford super duty, stops, surveys the scene, drives forward, stops, sits for a few seconds, then backs up and pulls up next to the guy, like real close, then goes in like nothing's going on.

I'm looking around like whose the dude with the trailer, but I don't know, didn't see anybody that seemed likely. By the time I left it was still the same, but frankly people got guns round here so I was fine with that.

Having a trailer parked like that I can understand. Front row, better choices are no doubt available unless the guy is a hobbler with a cane or something.
For me that day I guess I had to prove to the guy he didn't have the douchebag market cornered :sneaky: . Like I said sometimes something will spark it off. I was kind of surprised that I didn't have any additional air conditioning via a broken window or art work via a key

Sometimes we just need to take a breath and apply the CYAD method (Calm your @$$ down) Myself included 🤠

Sucks trying to protect nice things that cost a lot of money. At first it bothered me aesthetically that my running boards stick out pretty far from the sides, but it has saved me from dings and since they’re steel, it leaves them with a reminder to be more careful swinging doors open.
That’s my favorite perk of the huge running boards on my HE. No car or small SUV can hit my doors with theirs if they tried.

If there are plenty of empty spots nothing wrong with this. If you do this best to park in a far spot, its safer and you will avoid getting keyed.
