What’s the point of bringing a laptop? If you are going to sit in your laptop, you can go find a Walmart parking lot to be cringeworthy in.

My second vehicle is a "toaster" Scion Xb...I would have parked in the spot next to him.

I don’t see a problem here. And the fact that some including those on Reddit., having issues with the guy, are blaming the wrong person. If someone parked close to the line, especially if I have a passenger, I’ll park like he did. If you notice, his front end is on the line and the back is within the line. From what I read on Reddit, people had a problem with his parking and not the awning.

The jerk is either the white van or the black vehicle, And the person that took the video/pictures. She claimed that she found a better parking spot that fitted her needs but did report the guy. The Bronco wasn’t there when she checked a little later on.

People need to grow up. Life is too short

I think the issue is that he is sitting in a parking spot. In the video you can see that the lot has filled in and this spot is being taken up by the guy sitting in his char in said spot.

On a parking space related note, I always disliked how some people park their sports cars taking up two spaces. But now owning a sports car that's gotten two side dings from people opening their doors into it, I have some understanding. Even my hard to miss Bronco got dinged.

Now I park way out of the way in parking lots trying to avoid the door dingers. I wonder if there's a subset of humans responsible for most of the door dings? People who carelessly open their doors into other's vehicles. :(

Like @Beach_Bum mentioned, it is not that hard to be considerate to others. Park at the end space.
Every time I go to an event (like SCE) and have intentions of deploying my 270 awning, I pick a spot on the end of the row, or mention to the person directing us of my desire and intent. Have yet to run into a situation that worked against me being able to do it.
All it takes is a bit of situational awareness and common sense etiquette.
I think both perspectives can come into play here.
Guy is a tool for sprawling out like that in an access parking lot where other are there to enjoy something, and the people blasting it via pics and condemnation on social media are not helping the optics much.
Granted, if the guy was actually approached by someone in a respectful manner and he responded with snark or entitlement, it is all on him. I'd probably snap a pic and complain to my friends about it as well, being as there is no other legal recourse .

I guess they called to get the guy ticketed but he was gone once parking enforcement showed up. And agree on all your points, a little courtesy goes a very very long way.

He was.
He told the lady who politely asked him to let her park where he was sitting that she should have planned better.
This guy deserved every bit of what he got.

Heck even that won't save you. Got bronco owners out there just running over stationary Teslas these days. Completely destroying them and then not sharing pictures of the destruction.

Had he gone to the bathroom and came back to a cut apart canopy, THEN he would have got what he deserved. I know some people take internet hazing a little harder than others, but being teased on reddit is nothing.

Naively I thought off-roading would provide the damage to my Bronco. Instead it's been other humans, dinging my door and plowing into the rear.

Right? But I am under the impression that you can call such things badges of honor or something and it shows people you don't know or care to talk to that you do, in fact, "use" your vehicle. Rogue shopping cart puts a big dent and scratch in the door? Wellllllll...that happened on....Cliffhanger! Pretty gnarly stuff! You will now be waved at by raptor owners 🙏

I bought my new 2010 pickup and about the second weekend 🤔 I went to Krogers early, like 7:15am. I parked in the back of the lot; there were like six cars in the whole lot.

I was inside for all of 10 minutes and as I was leaving, this big dude, like really big, goes heaving by me, all mouth breathing and everything. I walk out the door and sure enough, there's an '80's conversion van parked within a foot of my door, a little ding on my passenger side, and there were no other cars in the lot that weren't there before. So it was that dude.

So yeah, you can try and park on the dark of the moon, and you'll still come out with some jerkwad right on your door. (n) lol
