I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Morrflate air compressor and hose kit. Curious if people recommend the 125" or 155" wheelbase host kit. I'm not sure if having extra hose is a good or bad thing. Would love some advice from owners of this kit or other kits with these sizes.

Get the shortest you need. I would also suggest the FiveSix with two hose kit. A lot cheaper, and it's so fast it's not really that much faster for the twin/four hose kit versus doing both sides separately. Plus takes up less room.

I have the twin TenSix w/four hose. I like it a lot, but to do over I'd get the FiveSix with two hose setup. If you do go twin, the new model they have is maybe the last one you'll ever buy.

I have a 4 door with the shorter hose and there is no problem reaching the rear tires. I am finding cargo space for everything is a challenge.

if you are pulling a trailer that needs air down/up maybe the longer would reach. I am not sure if trailers also need to be aired up/down for over landing. You could probably jackknife the trailer and reach both with out un-hitching.

they did just release a new regulator that closes the valve when it hits a certain psi. Pretty handy.

they might have a 4th of July sale coming up, or a Labor Day sale.

Agree as above. Shorter base is fine. I did purchase the single hose extender to help anyone else air up/down so that may be a middle ground for you. Otherwise happy with the hoses.

@Gonzo & @HolidayDog, to clarify you think the 125" would be plenty? @userdude that is an interesting idea of saving some cash and taking up less space. For the the fivesix, would you just monitor the digital gauge on the hose kit versus setting and forgetting on the TenSix?

You're referring to the new model with the onboard digital gauge. Mine doesn't have that (I bought mine about six months earlier than it's release) and the host kit I have has a digital gauge on the hub that's always running out of batteries. I just monitor it on the dashboard using the TPMS.

Do you have a lot of experience with these four hose systems? Seems like they’re more trouble than they’re worth, in my opinion. With Apex valve stems we can air down all four tires with the TPMS before some people even have their hoses untangled. To air back up with a single hose and six foot whip coming off the gauge is super easy and gives the compressor a break between tires. Much easier to put away and saves room.

Just my observations.

I dunno, I just went to Bridgeport and I use Stauns (overpriced I know) to air down, and when we went to air up at the park's compressor, I spotted my buddy a minute and still finished before he got done all the way around. That's with the big compressor they have setup that's nice and is fast.

I was annoyed at first with needing to put it up and take it down, but I'm used to it now and takes about a 90s total. Full air up from 15psi to 36psi incl. setup and teardown in ~6 minutes. With the Fivesix, I'd guess 8-9 minutes. The only real issue I have with the TenSix and four hose is how much room it takes up (in a 2dr).

I am interested about the Apex setup you use to air down. What do you mean use the TPMS? Just watch it, or does it somehow stop the air flow?

I have the longer version with the digital gauge. PITA to fold up. I haven't figured out how to elegantly store it.

The digital gauge is useless. It also loves to turn itself on, so I fully expect it to run out of batteries. It is highly inaccurate, around 10 psi off.

I use the TPMS on the dash, then spot check a tire with an Joes Racing gauge.

Other than that it works fine, but in hindsight, I should have made my own.

Well, I may be a sucker to some extent, but although I have a 2-door I got the 125". Why? In case a 4-door needs some assistance. Just want to be able to help when called upon.

I’d definitely recommend the APEX valves regardless of what setup you’re running. Air down in 20-25 seconds and air up faster too.

To air down girlie just watches the air pressure on the dash while I pop open the deflate valve. As soon as it gets to the air pressure we’re looking for she tells me to stop and it’s good to go!

I assume they're on full-time. You don't have issues with mud getting in them or anything?

I think they sell 2 hoses…I have the shorter set with the 10-6pro and a 4 door. There is plenty of slack hose. You will always want more cargo space and a smaller compressor/2 hose kit might help you gain space.
So far I haven’t felt I needed to air down/up any faster. Two hoses might be a good route. It really doesn’t take that long.

I’ve noticed the dash tpms, compressor and the valve gauge all show different psi (2-3psi difference between the 3). I also use my tire pressure checker gauge. It does get all tires to the same psi. I haven’t used it enough to figure out which reading to look at while airing up/down.

There are other options out there that are much smaller and far cheaper. Check out the valve stem air down things. I am not sure what they are called but people like them(tiny and affordable). You set them to a certain psi, put them on tires and let them go. Four of these are about the size of 6 peanuts.

Not at all. It’s a slick design. The valve cap (captured on a little leash) holds the sleeve down that you pull to air down, so everything is always covered and protected. Can’t air down on you accidentally either. Thinking about it probably the only cleanliness issue would be when I leave the sleeve on the spare open so that the tire can easily deform when dragging over rocks coming off of super steep and tall obstacles.

I have the long hose kit (4 valve) and it's great. I can't imagine it takes up that much more space than the short one, and reeling it all back up will be a pita whether short or long.

Agreed that the digital guage sucks. Mine always turns itself on so the batteries are always dead - I've gotten in the habit of removing the batteries.

I still love the 4-hose system for airing down and up. I love that it equalizes the pressure in all 4 tires. Big fan - highly recommend.
