Following back up on this thread. Does anyone have any RTA measurements of their mids? I’m considering going down a rabbit hole to seal the enclosure more but not sure it’s worth it. I’m still struggling to get a 100hz 24db LR rolloff from this location.
what are you calling the "mids" any dash speakers will likely be on the smaller side and i would not expect them to be able to play much if anything below 200ish Hz

The lower kick panel speakers should be larger speakers and assuming they are designed for use in the small airspace of the cowl, should be able to play down to 100Hz or lower. This lower location should noticeably benefit from sealing it up as from the factory it is fairly leaky

I installed Hertz MP165.3 in my kicks that were removed from Mustang along with printed spacers, and some sound deadener behind them and foam rings, and they fit perfectly. Also Scan Speak 10M center, Ground Zero BMW center speakers in dash corners, Audison AP4 in pods plus Kenwood XR1001.1 using sub high level signal powering Hertz EBX25.5 tailgate sub.

Since I'm contemplating dropping another $2K into A to B module and Audison DSP amp or mobridge I did some analysis using Huawei Pura 80 Pro Ultra on both streaming 320 kbs and USB FLAC on stereo and surround modes.

I was very impressed... response is nearly perfectly flat across the board after my sub flat lines, at all volumes. Did it many times and results repeated. I will download some Audison test tones and do it again.

I will have extreme difficulty matching this with a DSP tune so I will not add DSP amp and will blow the cash on a tune.

The Hertz MP165.3 are 3 ohm so they will suck more power deliver better outcome. I do have some Hertz C165F in classified that I'll let go cheap never used no box and some Hertz DCX 100 I tested also low price.

I too was displeased with lows when I changed out kicks and added Kicker Key. I ended up using Kilmat and sealed up the entire cavity including the holes where the interior trim pieces snap back in. Made a night and day difference for mine.

I just changed out the foams from ones on Mustang that may have been interfering with excursion to the rippled ones and made a notable difference.

At level 25 on EDM I do not feel any notable vibration on the speaker cover either.

@heathw101 Attaching two RTA from my Helix before and after I added the Acoustic Putty that @akturbo recommended. I also change Speaker rings from Metra to the SoundGooodStereo ones and removed that dumb speaker baffle I had lying around. I did a rough tune and called it a day. Too much work to change crossover points and retune. Midbass are the Hertz MPK 165.3

Thanks! Did you put any polyfill in there?
