I’m about 99.9% sure it happened at the car wash. I was in and out of the back a lot yesterday, and when I got home from fishing I hand washed the glass. Every time I wash the windows I wipe down the seal on the rear lift glass. There’s no way I would have been able to miss it.
Got home from the car wash and grabbed a towel and blower to wipe down the excess water and BAM!!!!! There it is. But can I prove it happened there? Not without a video or matching the damage to the arm of one of their equipment pieces. I had to hit the road to travel for a wedding or I would have gone back to talk to them.
Insurance- maybe it’s worth it. I’ve never submit a claim so I guess it can’t hurt, just won’t have time to deal with that until next week when I’m back.

There is clearly some red paint transfer on the top. Was there anything red at that car wash? Should be easy enough to take a peek at the car wash today.

I just ordered some. I’ll report back. This looks like the best option short of replacing top which I really don’t want to do.
We’ll see how well I can do mixing colors
So for the epoxy to fully adhere to the polyoxymethylene of the MIC top, you will need to clean then prep the surface with an adhesion primer like this. It probably would have been fine with the texture, but this will give you the best results.

Agreed. There's clearly physical contact happening due to mechanical movement inside the car wash. Might be easy to spot during regular operation.

I just got back from the car wash and started packing for a trip. Noticed this when I opened the hatch. Pretty sure it wasn’t there last night (when I cleaned all the windows), but that’s a different topic.

Has anyone repaired a hard top with similar damage? How do I keep it from getting worse? What else should I be worried about(water getting in?)? I’m really hoping it’s not toast.

MIC tops aren't supposed to go through car washes. They're all shipped with a little sticker that kinda shows that, but most dealers peel it off.

Owner's manual says this:

Ford Bronco MIC 2.0 Repair- is it possible? 1756486893774-oy

They don't want the hard top going through car washes.

Touchless car washes should be ok, and is the only kind of car wash I use.

JB Weld will work. There are different epoxies out there that might be perfect for the material that is used to make that top, bad part to match it, you will need to paint the top or wrap it in vinyl.

I would turn it in to insurance. Let them battle with car wash if they want. Or….. patch it with epoxy and try to match color. If it’s still ugly put this over it.

Won't look good and need to be cleaned off before the epoxy repair but if you end up in rain on your trip and need to stop the water getting in, the waterproof rubberized "duct" tape products worked really well on an old camper I had.

Used it on the hybrid camper fold out tent and awning and never leaked. Gorilla and Flexseal make some but I know there are others. They make black ones so it won't stand out too bad.

The colour is not that hard to match, I've used the Carbonized Grey spray from Dupicolor.
