I believe that the Baja Mode exhaust in a Raptor is illegal on many states.

Maybe I should’ve asked when you put a raptor in sport mode is the exhaust that much louder to attract cops?
Ah.

Unless there’s more video, we don’t know if the Lamborghini in the video was modified, nor what the driver was actually doing that attracted the cop before the video clip.

The cop oddly said “it needs to be in the ECO or the lowest mode, which is usually Wet.” So maybe the kid was spinning his tires or sliding on wet pavement and that attracted the cop. 🤷🏼

In the state of New Jersey you can't legally modify a car to be louder than designed but since Auto inspections in NJ are a joke these days it is pretty much unenforced. Technically though a cop could pull you over for noise if exhaust alterations are suspected. There are municipal noise ordinances in some towns as well.

" N.J.S.A. 39:3-70 requires every motor vehicle with a combustion engine to have a functioning muffler in good working order to prevent excessive noise, prohibiting muffler cut-outs, bypasses, or similar devices on highways "

"highways" in legal lingo is any road in NJ

I don't know about this specific cases but some counties have their own noise ordinances...usually enforced for crazy stereos or parties....I have been given a warning in TX in residential area when I had a straight piped mustang....:)

I'm in Jersey and my cars (with the exception of my Bronco) are all loud as hell with aftermarket and/or custom exhausts. I've never been stopped for noise and never had it mentioned to me if I had been stopped for speeding. But yeah...inspection has become a joke here

Yes, we have posted speed limits here too and you know how well those work. It really is a free-for-all in this state 😄😄

Not loud on a Bronco... but a GT350 or GT500 with active exhaust is LOUD. I think they sound great, love the raspy note from the flat-plane crank and its firing intervals. But I can see how it could run afoul of noise laws.

Sport mode isn't illegal, stop getting garbage from facebook. That driver isn't even IN a bronco, and based on the shirt, the lack of rollbar, the paddle shifters, the flat bottom steering wheel, he's likely some whistlindiesel fuckboy wannabe rolling around with a gopro for some youtube/tiktok click revenue.

I bet if he just knew THIS ONE SIMPLE TRICK FROM OTHERS IN HIS AREA he wouldn't have gotten pulled over for being a douche.
Lol a solid portion of this forum are exactly the people who see some clickbait facebook post title and share it as far and wide as they can.

Sound laws exist for a reason it doesn't matter if its "standard" or not. Not everyone wants to hear your exhaust especially people living near the road. I like a throaty V8 exhaust as much as anyone but its about quality not volume. There are a lot of insane loud vehicles and most of them are turbo fours that sound like weed whackers. You aren't impressing anyone.

Airports and airplanes have strict noise laws now days. Nobody living near the road wants to hear that sound every day. I wonder if vehicles with so called active exhaust is for track or off road use only? When it comes to exhaust quality trumps volume. Nobody is impressed by loud, except maybe a few future doctors and lawyers. Most turbo engines sound like a week whacker on steroids.

Sport Mode on a non-Raptor Bronco does not affect the exhaust.

That aside, if you have a vehicle with an active (adjustable) exhaust, the most aggressive (i.e. Track) can attract unwanted attention from law enforcement.

I have a 2016 Roush modified Mustang with an active exhaust. Settings are Tour, Sport and Track.

There are warnings in the owner's manual that Track mode is illegal for street use. In that setting the baffles are wide open in the exhaust system.

Now I run it in track mode all the time and haven't run into an issue, but I also try not to do something stupid like an aggressive pull when the police are around. It is pretty loud when accelerating, especially when you put your foot in it, but not bad when cruising.
